CONGRATS TO THE WINGS, WHO ARE ENSURED TO PLAY IN THE AUGUST 25, 2016 SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!  THE WINGS ARE CURRENTLY ON A SIX GAME WINNING STREAK.

IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED OF THE LABORIOUS SEASON THE BRUINS HAVE HAD.

WELL – PRIOR TO TODAY’S GAMES, BRUINS GOALIE KIRK LARSON IS TELLING EVERYONE WHO WOULD LISTEN, THAT THE BRUINS ARE TAKING TWO TODAY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE PLAYING THE PLAYOFF AND REGULAR SEASON SECOND PLACE TEAMS!  REALLY?

GUSSS WHAT – THE BRUINS PLAY TWO TREMENDOUS GAMES TODAY – LARSON STANDS ON HIS HEAD IN BOTH GAMES – AND THE BRUINS SWEEP!!

WEEK FOUR OF THE PLAYOFFS

WINGS   6    STARS   3

Wings sub Chodun scores the game winning power play goal as the Stars Pierre Dugas watches in the penalty box with a solo roughing minor penalty.  That was the first of two goals this game for Chodun.  Center John McNeilly also with a deuce.  Singles for Steve Bayagich and sub Scott Davenport.  Billy “The Dark” Knight, Joey Reiss and Danny Rea score for the Stars.

LEAFS   4    HABS   2

Leafs center Jeff Ivory puts on a highlight reel show for the very sparse Troy Arena crowd.  Ivory with the hat trick which included one goal of undressing the Habs defenseman and then burying the puck.  “Angry” Joey Ventimiglia with the clinching goal on a nice backhand move.  Center Brian Moore with both Habs markers.

BRUINS   4    HAWKS   1

The Bruins win their first game of the playoffs as goalie Larson’s half way through his bold prediction!  Winger Jamie St. Amand with a two goal game.  Singles for Donnie Rivera and an empty netter from defenseman Craig Bastuba.  Larson and the Bruins pay special attention to Hawks scoring machine Dr. Nate and shut him down without a single point.  Hawks sub defenseman “Vin” Scully with their lone goal.

STARS    HAWKS – NO DATA SUPPLIED.

WINGS    4    HABS   3

The Wings win their third straight playoff doubleheader, as defenseman Dana Boyette scores the game winning goal with less that two minutes left on the Troy Arena clock!  Steve Bayagich with the deuce and Dad sub Terry Boyette also with a goal.  Goaltender Dar with a strong game in nets.  Habs – Robbie Olmstead(2) and Paul “Brett Michaels” Violassi.  The Wings Scott Bozyk picks a solo roughing minor penalty.

BRUINS   4   LEAFS   2

First time all year – and were talking regular season and playoffs – the Bruins take two and knock the Leafs out of Championship game contention to boot.  Playing with a new left wing – sub Rob Duff – slick center Donnie Rivera with the trick!  Craig Bastuba with the game winner.  Kirk “Captain America” Larson one again was outstanding in nets and perfect on his prediction for the power house Bruins!  Defenseman Mike Riddle with both Leafs markers.  Right winger Curt Lesnau picks up an unsportsmanlike penalty that ironically led to Mike Riddle’s second goal which was scored shorthanded.
