AS USUAL AT THIS TIME, CURT’S CORNER WILL BE TAKING A TWO WEEK SABBATICAL.

OFF TO THE FLORIDA PALMS TOURNAMENT IN SUNNY ST. PETE FLORIDA.

CURT’S CORNER WILL RETURN FOR THE MAY 4th GAMES.

WEEK ONE OF THE SPRING/SUMMER SEASON

BRUINS   8    FLYERS   2

Baker’s Bruins come out of gate and demolish the Flyers!  You have to watch this combination of John McNeilly(3 & 1) and Mike “King of the Road” Miller(4 Helpers).  These guys play really well together and can do some major damage!  Right defenseman Jeff Funk with the deuce.  Likewise for “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio.  Al Pyc also with a goal.  Left winger Benny Hudson with the hat trick assist.  Donnie Rivera and sub Pat ‘The Beast” Wosek tally for the team in orange.  Zero penalties in the game.

HAWKS   5    SHARKS   2

An interesting subplot in this contest as you have Dr. Nate McCoughtry(The Trick) playing against shutdown defenseman Billy McCauley Jr.(1 goal).  It was fun to watch.  Even Billy McCauley Sr. was in attendance.  John “Shifty” Shelton and line-mate Timmy “Dutch” Schultz with singles.  “Midtown” Mikey Brown also scored for the Fish, in another penalty free game.

WINGS   5   HABS   2

The Wings come out strong – with four first period tallies.  Rob Rowling with the deuce.  Singles for Jack Prioux, Joey Reiss and Steve Bayagich.  Brian Moore and Larry Rowe score for the Frenchmen.

FLYERS   6    HAWKS  4

After getting smoked in game one – the Flyers redeem themselves and defeat the Hawks.  Six different players score for the Hawks: Donnie Rivera, Curt Lesnau, Danny Rea, Billy “The Dark” Knight, Mike Nalepa and sub Gary “Tall Dude” Seelbinder. Hawks – Dr Nate(2), Scott Chodun and JP on a nice backhand rebound goal.

WINGS   5    BRUINS   1

1-1 entering the final stanza – then the Wings explode with four final period goals!  The Wings bury ten goals in today’s doubleheader sweep.  Joey Reiss with the trick.  Rob Rowling and Steve Bayagich also with goals.  The noticeably slimmed down “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with the Bruins lone marker.

SHARKS   6    HABS   1

Again – 1-1 entering the final stanza.  Then the Sharks score five unanswered goals!  Sting rookie Chad Wooten with the deuce.  Singles for Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi, Mike Riddle and the Browns – Mike and Jimmy.  Jack Levy with the lone French goal as they drop two on the day.
