Here's to my friends I've made along the way,
For many of whom it is hockey we play.
My day will come . . . the game didn't matter,
For the loss of a friend, there is nothing sadder.
My friends and my time are gifts from my maker,
The fond memories they left me have became their " Play Maker ".
I cherish my time and spend it with care,
I have faith that my loved ones are all happy " up there ".
On and off ice, I will always show pride,
My "God Given" journey is an awesome kind of ride.
When my life here is over, there will be a new beginning,
I am going to play on God's team, and that my friends,
" That Will be Winning "

"What Is Dying"
I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her as she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone by my side says, “there, she’s gone!”
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says “there, she’s gone!”, there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . . "Here she comes”. . . and that is dying.
