SHARKS   5    FLYERS   4

1-1 entering the final period for these two new expansion teams.  Jimmy “Boog” Powell leads the Sharks with a two goal game.  Singles for Ben Haynes, Joe Plati and sub Lawson.  Factoring in all of the Flyers goals was Mike Ala(2&2) and singles for Bruce  Gooel and sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux.  The Sharks Mark Nuss picks up a dubious distinction, with back to back to back trips to the sin bin and an early end to his game.

HAWKS   4    WINGS   0

The Hawks played this week once again without regular goalie “Sugar” John Marchin, who was away on another mental health break from his last place team.  So what happens – they upend the top spot Wings behind sub goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin, who shines in nets with the whitewash!  Brian Belloli scores on consecutive shifts, as the Hawks do all their scoring in period one.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley and Chuck Mouraine with singles.  No Wings highlights.

HABS    3     BRUINS   0

John Perini scores the Habs first and final goal.  Mike Lawson with the middle marker.  Self made goalie Sir Kevin Beebe was outstanding in nets with the shutout!  No Bruins highlights in this penalty free game.

HABS    5    HAWKS   2

Don’t look now – but Kenny Wilkins Habs are undefeated in seven straight games and now tied for second place in the standings!  Steve Orr with the deuce for the Habs.  Singles for Jeff “Dick” Tracy and the game one goal scorers Mike Lawson and John Perini.  Donald Courtley and Chuck Mouraine(SH) score for the Hawks.

SHARKS   5    BRUINS   3

Nice offensive night for the predatory Sharks, as they total ten goals on the night.   Ben Haynes leads the way with the trick!  Kevin Mahon and sub J. “Magnum” Higgins(Empty Net) with singles.  Bruins – Adam Goddard, Bobby Watson and Dougie Roehl.  David Arsenault with a solo roughing minor penalty to go along with his earlier slashing penalty.

WINGS   3    FLYERS   2

Tied 2-2 entering the final stanza.  Then – right off the center ice face off, Wings defenseman Mike Charison makes a couple of his patented moves and goes low far side 27 ticks into the final period, for the game winning goal!  Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan with the first place Wings first two goals.  Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel with both Flyers markers as they drop a deuce today.  Both goalies – the Mikes – Schlimgen and Mostyn with excellent games in nets.
