WINGS   5     SHARKS   2

The league’s leading scorer Mary Sell records the trick for the top spot Wings.  Jack Jeneraux and Grand rapids call up Scott Leslie also dent the twine for the Wings.  Wings goaler Mike Schlimgen with a workmanlike effort between the pipes and also with an  assist.  Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins and Ben Haynes tally for the Sharks.

FLYERS   5    HABS   0

The Flyers break this close game open with four final period goals.  Mike Mostyn with the well earned whitewash.  Deuces wild for Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel and the savvy Pat Collins.  Gary Enmark with a single.  Sub Lawson with three helpers.  No Habs highlights.

BRUINS   4    HAWKS   2

The Bruins spread the wealth around with four different goal scorers.  Bob “Bugsy” Watson, Rick Batchelder, Adam Goddard and sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux all tally for the Bruins.  Chuck Mouraine and Ronnie Meltsner score for the Hawks.  Bruins sub “Hal” McRae and “Gentleman” Don Courtley – who was not too gentlemanly, both hit the box with roughing minors.

FLYERS   5    SHARKS   0

A doubleheader shutout for Mike Mostyn and the Flyers, as they vault into second place in the standings with their second consecutive doubleheader win.  Mostyn now leads the league with four shutouts!  Smooth skating John Zuccarini with a two goal game.  Singles for Al Platt, Terry Masserant and European sub Vigi.  The Sharks were beached today as they drop a deuce.

WINGS   3    HAWKS   3

The last place Hawks pull a surprise attack and jump out to a three zip lead, only to see the Wings salvage the tie.  The Hawks play a nice game today as Brian Belloli, James George and Chuck Mouraine light the lamp.  Sub Goaler Rick “Ticker” Chauvin was stellar in nets, as he went against his wife’s Carol’s advise and subbed for the Hawks again!  Marty Sell with the deuce and five goals on the night and sub Scott Leslie tally for the Wings in this penalty free game.

BRUINS   6    HABS   2

The Bruins sweep for the day, as the Habs go in the opposite direction and descend out of second place in the standings.  Deuces wild for Rick Batchelder and sub Steve Lemieux.  Singles for Bobby Watson and Adam Goddard.  Steve Orr and Dan Perini with the Habs markers.  Bruins sub Lemieux(High Sticking) and the Habs Chris Zanke(Tripping) get entangled and cool their jets together in the box.
