WINGS   2    FLYERS   1

Scoreless game late in the first period – then the Flyers incur a tripping penalty.  41 ticks into the final period Wings sub Scott Leslie puts the Wings up 1-0 with a power play tally.  21 seconds later the Flyers go to the box again with a tripping penalty.  Paulie “Jay” Giles  scores the game winning power play goal for the Wings.  Guess the Flyers have to work on their PK.  Dougie Roehl with the lone Flyers goal.  Both goalers – Wings sub Rick ‘Ticker” Chauvin and Mike Mostyn were stellar in nets.  Following the game, Flyers goalie Mike Mostyn told his team they have to work on their self control!

BRUINS   4    SHARKS   4

Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins swoops down the right wing and ties the game up late for the Sharks.  Joe Plati, Kevin Mahon and the venerable George Gray round out the Sharks scoring.  Bobby “Bugsy” Watson, Rick Batchelder, Adam Godard and sub Steve Lemieux tally for the men in yellow.  After the game, the Sharks Kevin Mahon was going on and on in the locker room about last night’s Presidential debate.  Finally – teammate George Gray had to step up and politely tell Kevin to zip it!  Imagine that!

HABS   5    HAWKS   4

Jeff “Dick” Tracy scores his first of two goals 51 ticks into the game to send the Frenchmen to the W.  Tough return for Hawks puck stopper “Sugar” John Marchin, as he needed a mental health break last week from the ragtag  Hawks who remain winless on the season.  Kenny “Primetime” Wilkins, Steve Orr and Mike Lawson with singles for the Habs.  Hawks – Donald Courtley, Ronnie Meltsner, James George and sub Cuapie.

BRUINS  5    FLYERS   2

Making teammate Bobby Watson look like he’s skating in slow motion – the supersonic skating sub, Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the trick for the victorious Bruins.  Both players having fine starts to their season – Adam Godard and Rick Batchelor with singles.  Goaler Bobby Rutkoske with a solid game between the pipes.  Mike Ala and Gary Enmark with the Flyers goals as they drop a deuce today.  Al Platt picks up an unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty for the Flyers.

HAWKS   6    SHARKS   4

It had to happen some time!  The Hawks are a virgin no longer as they win their first game of the season!  Fed up with losing – “Gentleman” Don Courtley with his first career 4 goal game!  As in game one – James George(Also 3 Helpers) and sub Cuapie with singles.  Dave Wargo with a three assist game.  Ben Haynes with a two goal game for the Sharks, one goal was of the short handed variety.  Just like game one – singles for Joe Plati and Eddie Higgins.

WINGS   2    HABS   2

Even steven game on the ice and on the scoreboard.  Stevie Lambert with both Wings markers as the Wings remain undefeated for the season.  Jeff Tracy and Chris Zanke score for the Habs.  Goalies – Sir Kevin Beebe and sub Rick Chauvin both were excellent in nets.
