HAWKS   6    WINGS   4

An epic ending to an epic season!  The high flying Wings finish in first place in the first and second half seasons and the playoffs, only to come up short in the Championship game!  This was a stirring victory for the gritty Hawks, who assemble a five man specialty unit to assume the daunting task of shutting down Wings scoring machine Zach Wagner!  Guess what?  It worked, holding Zach to a couple of assists!  The turning point of the contest occurred with the Wings up 4-2 in the third period and then promptly receiving a kneeing and slashing penalties within a minute of each other!  The Hawks power play was a thing of beauty, as sub Mark Micolo and John Poolton both score, while Paul Elsey Jr. and Jack Leavy captained the power play.  Then a minute later, sub Lance Koss buries the eventual game winning goal!  Three goals within three minutes!  Subbing for star center Brian Moore, game MVP Mark Micolo with the hat trick!  Dave Rupprecht with a single.  John Poolton also had three assists.  Steve Bayagich and Nate Wagner with the deuce for the Wings.  Check out the picture gallery below.
