THROW BACK THURSDAY!

PINE KNOB IS BACK AS IT SHOULD BE!

REMINDS ME OF A FINE SUMMER EVENING IN 1982 ON THE HILL WITH MY THREE DATES

AT THE MARSHALL TUCKER CONCERT.

FOR SOME REASON THE GIRLS BROUGHT SQUIRT GUNS WITH THEM.

THEY DECIDED TO START SHOOTING THE FULL COLORED BIKER GANG SITTING NEXT TO US!

I THOUGHT – OH BOY, THIS IS NOT GOOD!

THE BIKERS LOVED IT, AS WE DRANK AND SHARED ALL KINDS OF THINGS WITH THEM – LOL!

TWO GAMES LEFT IN THE SECOND HALF SEASON.

SHARKS UP BY A SINGLE POINT OVER THE BRUINS, TWO POINTS OVER THE WINGS AND THREE POINTS OVER THE HABS!

HERE WE GO!

WINGS   1     SHARKS   1

The top spot Sharks up by a point over the Wings entering the contest.  A well played game by both squads as the goalies – Dar and Billy Papciak shine!  Sharks field four subs today, as one sub showed up very late and had a great last shift of the game!  Sharks sub Kurt Salvatore scores on the games first shift with a low short side laser.  Defenseman Ryan Boyette of the Wings slips in from the right point and ties the game up with seconds left in the initial period!  No trips to the sin bin for either team.

BRUINS   3    HAWKS   0

You just can’t make this stuff up!  One Bruins sub does not show up for the start of the game.  Another Bruins sub forgets his skates and buys a pair at B & R!  John Cornish forgets his gloves and waits for his wife to deliver them!  Bruins start the game with two players on the bench and Mike Nalepa then proceeds to score on the games first shift!  Amazing!  Bruins sub Bissell with the workmanlike shutout!  Jeff Steiber and sub Koehler also score for the men in yellow.  Defenseman Paul Elsey with the hat trick assist.  John Siedlik of the Bruins picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.  No Hawks highlights.

FLYERS   3     HABS   3

A spirited game, as Craig Maisonneuve scores a late shorthanded goal for the Habs to tie it up.  Rob Rowling and Joey Reiss also with French goals.  Sub Scott Davenport with the hat trick assist.  “Midtown” Mikey Brown, Steve Wink and sub Granke tally for the Flyers.  Joey Reiss(Holding) attempts to slow down Flyers young sub Granke , who takes exception and picks up a minor roughing penalty.  Granke also with an unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty later in the game.

BRUINS   7    HABS   6

Open the flood gates!  Brian Hamlin snaps a 6-6 tie late in the game for the Bruins doubleheader sweep!  The Bruins have now won their past two doubleheaders.  Bruins sub Berry with the hat trick.  Jeff Steiber with the deuce.  John Cornish with a 1 & 3 game.  Deuces wild for Joey Reiss and sub Scott Davenport of the Habs.  Singles for Rob Rowling(Also 3 Helpers) and Craig Maisonneuve.

HAWKS   6    WINGS   3

Brian Moore and Jordan Roberts each score twice for the victorious Hawks.  Rob Hergott and Jeff Funk with singles.  Center Zach Wagner with a two goal game for the Wings.  Line-mate Steve Bayagich also scores.  Defenseman Jack Leavy of the Hawks incur a solo roughing minor penalty.

FLYERS   2     SHARKS   2

The third tie of the day!  The Sharks maintain their fragile first place lead with two games to go as they are now undefeated in their past eight games!  Flyers go up two zip on goals by sub Granke and an absolute blast from Mike Riddle.  Forcing to use a Bauer composite stick, Mike still miss’s  his obsolete wood 5030 Sherwood stick!  See picture below.   Center Nate McNaughtry scores his first of two goals with just two seconds left in the first period!  Both teams play very good games today as both teams tie each game today.  Both goalies – Billy Papciak  of the Sharks and Gordy Nadolsky of the Flyers were outstanding between the pipes in this penalty free game!

What is older than the automobile, airplane, radio and everyone who is alive today?
