HAPPY NEW YEAR!

WINGS    2    SHARKS   0

Kris “King” Arthur stands on his head and the big guy, Rob Rowling scores both goals in the game, as the Wings commence the New Year with a very hard earned win!

HABS   6     FLYERS   4

Both teams score three times in the final period.  The difference was, the Habs outscored the Flyers 3-1 in period one.  Regaining his college skills honed under head coach Doug Ross at Alabama Huntstville, Mark Rogers with a 3 & 2 game!  A little personal history here.  I have played this great game of hockey for 55 years.  I have had the great pleasure of playing left wing with two of my all-time favorite centers – Mark Rogers and Terry Boyette!  Getting a little sentimental here!  Ok – back to the game!  Pierre Dugas, Jeff Curran( Who I played against at Heilman Field in 1965) and sub E. Wagner round out the Habs scoring.  “Midtown” Mikey Brown(2), Eddie Sudzina and Danny Rea tally for the Flyers.

HAWKS   5    BRUINS   3

The talent laden Hawks unceremoniously snap the Bruins four game winning streak!  Harrison Township resident John McNeilly with the deuce.  Singles for Craig Maisonneuve Robbie Olmstead and Rob “Larry” Giroux.  Donnie Rivera, Mike Nalepa and Craig Bastuba tally for the men in yellow.

HAWKS   5    WINGS   2

The still undefeated first place Hawks break the 1-1 first period tie and score their next three final period goals in a 55 second span for the W!  The league’s leading scorer Zach Wagner with a two goal game.  Singles for Robbie Olmstead and sub Rob Aughe.  Rob Rowling and line-mate Scott Chodun tally for the Wings as they split on the day.

SHARKS   9    FLYERS   2

The Sharks right the ship and pound the under achieving Flyers!  What the heck is wrong with this Billy Knight lead team, as they attempt to set a Sting season futility record?  Still winless!  The Sharks field day – Dr. Nate(3&4).  Deuces wild for “Angry” Joey Ventimilio and Ward Peterson.  Greg Stacey and Steve Wink with singles.  Goaler Dar with a seven save game.  Danny Rea and sub Jeff Stieber score for the Flyers.

HABS   10   BRUINS   1

Just when you think it couldn’t get any uglier – it did!  The Habs score 16 goals on the day and send the Bruins to a double dip defeat.  Warren native Steve Bayagich with the tour du chapeau.  Sub E. Wagner with a two goal game.  Singles for Steve Lemieux, Marks Rogers(Also 3 Helpers) and subs “Scott” Mitchell and Craddock.  Habs goalie Gordy Nadolsky reunited with his teammates in the postgame locker room, as they were in the Bruins end all game!  John Cornish with the lone Bruins goal.
