SHARKS   5    WINGS   3

Sharks come back from a 3-1 first period deficit to score four final period goals!  Sub Elsey with a two goal game.  Singles for fellow subs Barker and “Frans” Neilson.  Goaler Billy Papciak with a strong game in nets.  Line-mates Zach Wagner, Terry Boyette and Steve Bayagich score for the Wings.

HABS   6    FLYERS   3

Sub “Peter” Townsend leads the Habs with a two goal game.  “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio, Rob Rowling and subs Eslinger and Breiss also dent the twine for the Frenchmen.  Rich Artymovich(2) and Trevor Wrobel score for the Flyers.

BRUINS   11    HAWKS   4

Ouch!  Setting a Sting record for points in a game by a line, the so called second line of Nick Piccolo(5 & 2), John Cornish(2 & 4) and sub Scott Davenport(2 & 4) total 18 points in the game!  Jeff Steiber and Mike Nalepa also score.  Now – this has not happened since September 9, 1982 on a Thursday night at Grosse Pointe Arena, when defenseman Paul Elsey playing for Mold Systems recorded four assists in a game against Tudge’s Pub!  Happened again in this game!  Scott Chodun scores twice for the Hawks.  Singles for Bob Hergott and Brian Moore.

HAWKS   4    WINGS   2

The Hawks recover from their game one pounding and play a great game and upend this formidable first place Wings squad!  Returning from the DL, Robbie Olmstead with a two goal game.  Singles for Brian Moore and sub Justin “Mickey” Brantley.  After applying his sun burn lotion in between games, Hawks goalie Joe Polizzi was simply outstanding in nets!  Zach Wagner and Steve Bayagich score for the Wings.

BRUINS   4     HABS   2

Bruins down 2 zip after one period, then claw back with four final period goals for the sweep on the day!  Mike “Padre” Nalepa with the deuce.  Singles for Jeff Steiber and sub Scott Davenport.  Habs sub “Peter” Townsend with another two goal game.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

FLYERS   5     SHARKS   5

You just gotta love this coed Flyers team!  I know playing with your son is special!  But I gotta believe playing with your daughter is just a little extra special!  Marty Papesh’s daughter and Larry Rowe’s daughter both played with their Dad’s in today’s games!  Gabriela Rowe(See Below) recorded her version of the Gordie Howe hat trick, with a goal, an assist and drawing two tripping penalties!  Paul Vioalssi, Mike Riddle, Marty Papesh with an assist from his daughter, and sub Kurt Salvatore round out the Flyers scoring.  Sub Elsey scores twice for the Sharks.  Singles for fellow sub Barker, Nate McNaughtry and late game tying goal from Scott Leslie.

Gabriela Rowe formally of Honey Baked and currently playing for MSU and

was one of 80 players invited for tryouts for the 2022 USA women’s Olympic team!

Everyone knows that HOF center Alex Delvecchio wore number 10.
As a rookie in 1955 he wore a different number.
What was it?
