SHARKS   4     HABS   4

Sharks sub Scott Bozyk scores with a minute left in the contest with the goalie pulled, to put a serious dent in the Habs first place aspirations.   They need to win game two and get some help from the two teams playing the Flyers.  Dr. Nate McNaughtry, Lloyd Rogers and Scott Davenport(Also 3 Helpers) round out the Sharks scoring.  Rookie of the year – Zach Wagner with the tour du chapeau for the Frenchmen.  Sub left winger Howard Smith with a single.  Habs defenseman Lenny Gerbino picks up a holding penalty and loudly voices his displeasure and picks up an unsportsmanlike penalty to boot.

WINGS   7      HAWKS    3

The Wings rattle off six first period goals to smoke the Hawks.  Nick Piccolo with the trick.  Jimmy “Jets” Galloway with the deuce.  Singles for Mike Nalepa(Also 3 Helpers) and Terry Boyette.  Sub Jeff Ivory with the hat trick assist.  Donnie Rivera and sub Jeff “Marine” Steiber tally for the Hawks.

HABS   8      BRUINS    2

A must W for the Frenchmen and it showed!  Taking his team into his own hands – Captain Mr. Robbie Olmstead with a huge four goal game!  “Nuff of this passing stuff” Robbie said!  Deuces wild for Zach Wagner and Rob “Larry” Giroux.  Greg Stacy and Rex Baker score for the men in yellow.

WINGS   3    FLYERS   0

The red hot Wings upend the Flyers!  The Flyers just needed a win to clinch first place in the standings.  The Wings are unbeaten in their past five contests and are deemed playoff ready by their catalyst goalie – Dar!  Dar with the the well earned whitewash.  Nick Piccolo, Mike Nalepa and returning from parts unknown – sub Mark Rogers do the honors for the Wings.

SHARKS   9     FLYERS   2

It all came down to this game!  If the heavily favored Flyers win – they take first place in the standings and a two point head start into the playoffs.  The Sharks have not defeated the Flyers all season!  The Sharks are winless in their past seven games!  Guess what happened?  With the entire Habs team in attendance watching by the boards – sub Mr. Scott Davenport records a career six goal game and the Fish run roughshod over the overmatched Flyers!!  Mr. Davneport was on fire!  Fellow sub Scott Bozyk with a two goal game and Dr. Nate with a single.  Sharks sub net-minder Alciandro with a highlight reel glove save on Flyers scoring machine Rob Rowling!  Mike Miller and Steve Lemieux score for the Flyers, who only needed one win in today’s games and come up empty.  Right defenseman Marty Papesh incurs a minor unsportsmanlike penalty.

BRUINS   5     HAWKS   1

In a game of zero consequence, the Bruins send the Hawks to a double dip defeat.  “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with a two goal game.  Singles for Greg Stacey, Brian Barker and Steve Bayagich.  Goaler Keith Konnie with an excellent game in nets.  Young Chad Wooten with the lone Hawks marker.

It’s been four years since a Canadian was selected first overall in the draft.

Who is he?

Connor McDavid was selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2015.
