WEEK THREE – PLAYOFFS

HABS   8    FLYERS   2

Venting their season long frustration – the Habs smoke the Flyers!  Mark Rogers with the tour du chapeau.  Steve Bayagich with the deuce.  Singles for subs Greg Calvin and Jimmy Brown.  Returning from a lengthy Florida vacation – Jeff Curran also with a goal.  Trevor Wrobel and sub Bill MaCauley Jr. score for the Flyers.

SHARKS   5     HAWKS   3

A big W for the Fish!  Mike Garlick with a two goal game.  Singles for Nate McNaughtry, Steve Wink and sub Mike “King of the Road” Miller.  German import sub Hentschel scores twice for the Hawks.  John McNeilly with their middle marker.

WINGS   2     BRUINS   2

A well played defensive struggle!  Goalies – Kris “King” Arthur and Bruins sub E. Miller were outstanding in nets!  Mike “Padre” Nalepa with both Bruins goals.  Wings sub “Smiling” Scott Davenport with both of their goals.

SHARKS   3     FLYERS   3

Flyers play a strong game and surprise the Sharks!  Mike Riddle puts the Flyers up 3-2 with 8 minutes left in the game.  Two minutes later, Nate McNaughtry scores his second goal of the game for the tie.  Greg Stacey also scored for the Sharks.  Trevor Wrobel and sub Billy Mac Jr. also with Flyers goals.

BRUINS   5     HABS   0

Baker’s Bruins take three points today behind the shutout goaltending of sub E. Miller, as they are now undefeated in their past five contests.  Deuces wild for John Cornish and Mike Nalepa.  Craig Bastuba also with a goal.  No French highlights.  Sub Jimmy Brown of the Habs incurs an unsportsmanlike minor penalty.  Donnie Rivera of the Bruins voices his displeasure over a tripping penalty and also racks up an unsportsmanlike minor penalty.

HAWKS   5     WINGS   2

The Hawks prevail in the battle for the top spot as both teams are now tied for that honor with four games left on the playoff schedule.  Zach Wagner with a two goal game for the Hawks.  Singles for John McNeilly, Rob “Larry” Giroux and sub Hentschel.  “Smoking” Joe Polizzi with a solid effort in nets.  Rob Rowling with both of the Wings markers.
