A League – Weekly Update (May 12, 2016)

STARS    2   HAWKS   1

In goal for the Stars – Billy Schaugg – nuff said!  Billy was outstanding in this game!  Texas call up Chris Isola with the shorthanded game winning goal.  Joey Reiss with the Stars initial marker.  JP with the top shelf goal for the Hawks.

WINGS   5   BRUINS   3

Sting rookie John McNelly with the trick for the Wings.  Steve Bayagich and Jimmy “Jets” Galloway with singles.  Todd Brown(2) and big Rex Baker tally for the men in yellow.

HABS   5   LEAFS   4

The Leafs score to tie it up 4-4 in the final period.  21 seconds later Habs center Brian Moore finds the back of the net for the game winning French goal.  Paul Violassi with a two goal game.   Kyle Lybecker and “Midtown” Mikey Brown with singles.  Robbie Olmstead and defenseman Mike Krueger with three helpers apiece.  Leafs – Jeff  Ivory, Mike Riddle, Mike Nalepa and Curt Lesnau.

HAWKS   2    BRUINS   1

The Hawks decide to load a line up.  So they create the PMS line.  Marty Papesh, Nate McCaughtry and John Shelton.  McCaughtry with both Hawks goals.  Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi with the lone Bruins marker as they drop their second consecutive doubleheader.  Both goalers – Joe Polizzi and Kirk Larson with excellent games in nets.  Left winger JP of the Hawks decided to break in Larson’s new face mask – as he nails him flush in the noggin!  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

STARS   4     HABS    1

In goal for the Stars – Billy Schaugg – nuff said – again!  Once again Billy reverted back to his 1980 stonewall style of goaltending!  Mike Miller with the trick for the Stars as ten gallon hats litter the ice.  Joey Reiss with the Stars final goal as they win their second doubleheader in a row.  Brian Moore was the only Hab to figure out Schaugg, in this penalty free game.

WINGS   5   LEAFS   3

Wings jump out ot a 5-0 lead, only to see the Leafs not quit and make a game of it.  As in game one – Sting rookie John McNelly with the hat trick!  Singles for Scott Bozyk and Dana Boyette, on a seeing eye shot from the point, as the top spot Wings win their fifth consecutive game.  Curt Lesnau, Joey “Angry” Ventiniglio and Mike Nalepa score the Leafs goals.
