MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

BRUINS   3   FLYERS   1

A very tight checking and entertaing affair!  Both puck stoppers – winning goalie Rodney Heid and Kirk “Captain America” Larson were outstanding between the pipes!  “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio scores his second goal of the game in the final period for the game winner.  Center John McNeilly with the insurance marker.  Flyers sub Garrick with their lone goal in this penalty free game.

HABS    8   WINGS   5

Habs down 3-1 for the third consecutive game and turn it around for a W!  Dr. Nate with the tour du chapeau.  Deuces wild for Al Pyc and Larry “School Boy” Rowe, who scored his goals on back to back shifts.  Moncton call up Keith Elsey with the Habs final goal.  Keith earned bragging rights, as he played against his Dad Paul today, who was subbing for the Wings.  Big Rob Rowling and center Mike Nalepa both with two goal games for the Wings.  “Midtown” Mikey Brown also with a goal.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

SHARKS   4    HAWKS   1

Da Sharks and goaltender Billy Schaugg shut down the Hawks.  Sharks sub Paul Elsey Jr. with a 1 & 3 game.  Mike Riddle, Billy Mac Jr. and James Leonardi with singles.  The Dutchman Timmy Schultz with the Hawks marker.

FLYERS   7    HAWKS   4

Flyers jump out to 5-1 first period lead and cruise for the W.  Steve Bittner with a two goal game for the Flyers.  Singles for Lloyd Rogers, Mike “King of the Road” Miller, Brian Moore, Mike T, Brown and Pat “The Beast” Wosek, who managed to stay out of the box today.  Hawks – Marty Papesh(2), Donnie Riviera and John “Shifty” Shelton.  This was a penalty free game.

BRUINS   8   WINGS   4

Ouch!  The Wings surrender 16 goals on the night and they drop five in a row!  Mr. John McNeilly with a four goal game!  John Cornish with the deuce.  Singles for Ray Tonelli and Craig Bastuba.  Speaking of Craig.  Wings net-minder Scott French was a little irritated at the constant cheery picking ways of Mr. Bastuba.  Especially with the Bruins up 8-4 late in the game and Craig hanging out at the center line.  So, Craig gets a breakaway and Scott French turns his net around so that ain’t no way he is scoring!  Bruins Captain Rex Baker was lobbying for a penalty shot.  Pretty comical!  Wings – Joey Reiss(2), Steve “Mario” Lemieux and Eddie Sudzina.  No penalties in the game.

SHARKS   6     HABS   4

It had to happen some time!  The Sharks finally defeat their nemesis the Habs.  The Frenchmen had not lost to the Sharks all of the first half and not until today!  Both teams are now tied for first place with identical records.  The absolute number one star of the game, was Sharks left winger “Jumping” Jim Leonardi with a two goal game!  His first goal was a change of pace beauty from the slot.  Goal number two was a short side one-timer.  Sharks sub Scott Chodun also with the deuce.  Singles for Billy Mac Jr(Also 3 Helpers) and sub Paul Elsey Jr. who earned bragging rights against his younger brother Keith, who subbed for the Habs today.  It definitely was an Elsey theme today, with Dad and his two sons subbing.  Dr. Nate McCoughtry with another tour du chapeau for the Habs.  Curt Lesnau with a single.  It had to be the Holidays, as this was the fifth game of the night with no penalties called!  That’s a first to my recollection!

This NHL Hall of Famer scored 50 or more goals in nine consecutive years and won four consecutive Stanley Cups in that time frame!

Who is he?
