FLYERS   3     SHARKS   2

The Flyers tighten up their defense and prevail in a very entertaining contest.  All the games goals are scored in the final stanza.  “Party” Pete Kaczmarek with the game winner.  Mike Nalepa with the Flyers first two goals.  Jeff Ivory and on a blast from the right point – Lou Suvak tally for the Fish.  Both Goalies – The Billy’s – Schaugg and MacCauley Jr. with outstanding games in nets.

HABS   2     BRUINS    1

The Bruins John McNeilly ties the game up at 1-1 with a shorthanded goal.  Eight seconds later – Super Sub Rob Rowling records the power play game winner for the Frenchmen!  James Puffer with the Habs initial marker.  Goalers – Dar and “Smoking” Joe Polizzi were stellar between the pipes!

WINGS    5    HAWKS   2

Five different goals scorers for the Wings.  Steve “With a Nod and A” Wink, Mike Wilson, and subs Gary Seelbinder, Keith Elsey and Hungarian sub Bayagich dent the twine for the Wings.  Puck stopper Muddy with a yeoman’s effort in nets.  Timmy “Dutch” Schultz and Brian Reath tally for the Hawks in this penalty free game.

WINGS   5    FLYERS    5

Both teams alternate goals throughout this even contest.  Deuces wild for Mike Nalepa and sub Tim Vaneckoute.  Fellow sub Scott Davenport also with a goal.  Sub Hastings with the hat trick assist.  Steve Wink and sub Gary Seelbinder both with a deuce for the Wings.  Sub Bayagich with the Wings first marker.  Center Brian Moore with three helpers.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

SHARKS     6    BRUINS   3

Jeff Ivory of the Sharks scores ten seconds into the game!  Jimmy “Jets” Galloway reciprocates for the Bruins with a goal 42 seconds later!  “Midtown” Mikey Brown scores his first of two goals a minute after Galloway’s goal!  The Bruins proceed to score twice, three minutes after Brown first goal, a minute apart.  Whew!  Not a good first five minutes for the goalies with five total goals scored!  Then the Sharks take control and rattle off four consecutive goals.  Dr. Nate McCaughtry with the trick for the Sharks.  League assist leader Mike “King of the Road’ Miller and Rex Baker with the Bruins final two tallies.

HAWKS   4    HABS   0

Kirk “Captain America” Larson wraps up the goals against and shutout titles in this contest!  Along with a first place finish to boot and a two point head start in the playoffs.  John “Shifty” Shelton, Joey Reiss, Steve “Mario” Lemieux and sub Chris Isola do the honors for the Hawks.  Normally the placid Lemieux, picks up a minor unsportsmanlike penalty in the final period.  No French highlights as both teams split for the day.
