HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

SHARKS    3    FLYERS   2

Mike Riddle goes end to end for his second goal of the game and the game winning goal for the Sharks.  Jeff Ivory with the middle marker.  Mike T. Brown and Steve Bittner tally for the Flyers.  Both puck stoppers, winning goalie Billy Schaugg and Kirk “Captain America” Larson were excellent between the pipes.

BRUINS   6    HABS   2

As the score indicates – this game was no anomaly.  Bakers Bruins dominate from start to finish!  Center John Cornish with the Bruins final two goals.  Singles for Chuck Bowers, Craig Bastuba and defenseman Brian Reath.  Al Pyc and Dougie Roehl score for the Frenchmen.

WINGS   4     HAWKS   3

Big Rob Rowling scores the short handed game winning goal for the Wings as they snap their losing streak!   Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the deuce.  Mike Nalepa with the Wings initial marker.  Timmy “Dutch” Schultz, Robbie Olmstead and Providence call up Mike Folster with the Hawks goals.  Kudos to our leagues best fans, Marty Papesh’s parents, who came out on this bone chilling day to watch some hockey!

BRUINS   5    SHARKS   2

The red hot Bruins sweep for the day!  New Daddy Rex Baker with the deuce.  Singles for John McNeilly, Craig Bastuba and Ray “Dog” Tonelli.  Goaler Rodney Heid was outstanding in nets!  The Jimmy’s – Brown and Galloway score for the Fish in this penalty free game.

HAWKS    5    HABS   4

The Hawks knock off the Habs for the second week in a row!  The Habs rebound from a late 4-2 deficit to tie the game up at 4-4, only to see Hawks winger Ward Peterson go top shelf on a game winning tap in.  Robbie Olmstead with a two goal game.  Right defenseman Marty Papesh also with a goal.  Habs – Dougie Roehl(2), Larry “School Boy” Rowe and Bryan Prentice.  For the second week in a row, Hawks defenseman Steve Wink manages to get the Habs top player banished from the game.  Last week it was sub Mark Norrington, this week it was Dr. Nate McNaughty, who picks up a minor penalty along with a game ending ten minute unsportsmanlike infraction in his encounter with Mr. Wink, who incurred an interference minor penalty.

WINGS   7    FLYERS   2

Whoa!  After allowing 35 goals in their past four games before today – with sub goalie Mark Lusczki manning the nets, the Wings only allow five goals and sweep for the day as they also kill off four penalties!  Deuces wild for Mike Nalepa and Eddie Sudzina.  Singles for Rob Rowling and the Boyettes – Dad Terry and son Ryan.  Billy “The Dark” Knight and sub Mike Ala score for the Flyers.
