SHARKS   6   WINGS   3

Pretty simple story line here.  Dr. Nate McCoughtry destroys the Wings with a huge four goal game!  Donnie Rivera and Jeff Ivory with singles.  Wings slick center Brian Moore with the trick.  Right winger Joey Ventimiglio assisted on all of Moore goals.  The Wings did not take losing lightly, as they racked up seven sin bin trips.  Lou Suvak(Interference) and “Downtown” Jimmy Brown(Unsportsmanlike Misconduct) exchange pleasantries.  Then in the final period, Jeff Funk and Ryan Boyette take turns chopping each other and hit the box in tandem.

HABS   2     FLYERS   0

A goaltenders dual between Dar and Billy Schaugg.  Jack Priauix goes five hole for the game winning goal.  Habs sub Bob Rowling ices the game with an empty netter.  Kudos again to both goalies who make this league what it is.  Good goalies make a good league!  The Flyers dipped deep into their farm system today as they utilized four subs.

HAWKS    4    BRUINS   2

2-2 entering the final period, then the Hawks score twice for the W.  Ward Peterson with the trick for the Hawks.  Captain John “Shifty” Shelton with the game winner.  Mike “King of the Road” Miller and Craig Bastuba tally for the men in yellow.  No trips to the box for either squad.

HAWKS    3    WINGS   2

Steve “Mario” Lemieux breaks free and buries the game winning goal with under a minute left in the contest.  John Shelton and Rob “Rickie” Middleton with first period markers.  “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with both Wings goals, as the Wings drop two for the day and watch the Hawks and the Sharks leapfrog them into a first place tie.  Both goaltenders – Kirk “Captain America” Larson and Muddy with excellent games between the pipes.  The Hawks PK was on display this game, as they killed one penalty, then immediately after that kill, Ward Peterson receives an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, followed by Captain’s Shelton tripping minor.  The Wings could not convert on the 5 on 3.

FLYERS   3     SHARKS   2

The Flyers contain Dr. Nate  as both teams split for the day.  Mike Riddle and subs Mile Ala and John Cornish score for the Flyers.  Jeff Funk and Scott Leslie tally for the Sharks.  Both goalies – Billy Schaugg and Billy Mac Jr. put on a goaltending clinic in this penalty free game.

HABS   7     BRUINS    1

Oh – this was an ugly one for Baker’s Bruins.  The Bruins were like a country with no border patrol- everything got through!  Habs sub Mr. Bob Rowling with a four goal game!  Singles for Pierre Dugas, James Puffer and sub Big Mike Folster.  Dar with a very light workload.  Eddie Sudzina with the lone Bruins marker.  The normally easy going Mary Papesh, picks up a 2 and 10 minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, as he and Steve Bittner(Slashing) get into it.  In the final period, two players who are no strangers to the sin bin – Jimmy “Jets” Galloway and Mike T. Brown incur roughing minors and a visit to the sin bin.

Which NHL player holds the record of scoring a goal in 13 consecutive games?

Hint – He wore # 11.

Charlie Simmer – L.A. Kings
