“A” LEAGUE WEEKLY UPDATE – JUNE 28, 2018

A VPN is an essential component of IT security, whether you’re just starting a business or are already up and running. Most business interactions and transactions happen online and VPN

I RAN INTO A LONG TIME STING MEMBER AND ONE OF ITS TOP ECHELON PLAYERS IN THE EARLY STING DAYS – JOHN MARTIN.  JOHN IS RECOVERING FROM HIS SECOND KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY.  JOHN EXTENDS HIS GREETING’S TO ALL HIS OLD STING BUDDIES!

LOTS OF GOALS SCORED IN TODAY GAMES!  THIS ELITE LEAGUE HAS SOME TALENT!

HABS   9    WINGS   5

Whoa!  The leagues leading scorer Mr. Rob Rowling with a huge six goal game!  This is NOT a misprint!  Mr. Rowling kept getting breakaway after breakaway and did NOT miss!  Moncton call up Larry “School Boy” Rowe with a two goal game.  Lloyd Rogers also with a tally.  Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi with the hat trick assist.  Wings – Mike Nalepa(2), “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio, Steve Bayagich and sub “Ma” Barker.

HAWKS   8    SHARKS   2

Sharks sub Greg Kalvin scores his first of two goals just over a minute into the game – and unfortunately for the Fish – that was it!  Slick Hawks center Mr. Brian Moore with a four goal game!  Singles for John Shelton, Marty Papesh, Mike “King of the Road” Miller(Also 3 Helpers) and sub Paul Erickson.  But the big news of this game was from Sharks sub Robb Duff who made the proclamation after the game, in no uncertain terms, that he will NEVER sub for this malcontent Sharks team again!  Now you know Rob Duff – malcontent is not in his vocabulary.  Replace it with a well know hockey locker room adjective.  Maybe it starts with an “A”, or maybe it starts with an “F”!   Just use your imagination. “They are way too serious” Duff laments!  With all the talent on this last place team – just maybe that could be their issue.  Have some fun boys!

FLYERS   7   BRUINS   4

This Flyers team owns this the very talented Bruins team!  If the Bruins are fortunate enough to make it to the Sam Cupp Championship game – they do NOT want to play the Flyers!  The Bruins have just lost four games in the season and three of those losses are to the fifth place Flyers!  Center Joey Reiss with the trick for the Flyers.  Deuces wild for Danny Rea and Mike T. Brown.  Bruins – Mike Ala(2), Craig Bastuba and Mike Garlick.   No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

HABS   5    SHARKS   5

Sharks stud sub Greg Calvin with the natural hat trick in the first period!  Fellow sub Rob Duff and Donnie Riviera with singles.  Completing his phenomenal doubleheader – Rob Rowling with the tour du chapeau and a total of nine goals on the day for the Frenchmen.  Are you kidding me?!  Robbie Olmstead and Mike Wilson with singles.

BRUINS  6    WINGS   5

Bakers Bruins clinch the top spot in the standings and will enjoy a two point head start entering the playoffs in three weeks!  Mr. Dr. Nate McNaughtry with a huge four goal game!  Singles for Mike Ala and on a nice pass from Dr. Nate – Curt Lesnau.  Captain Ryan Boyette with two goals for the Wings, who are now winless in their past three doubleheaders.  Dad Terry, Steve Bittner and sub Barker with singles.  Center Mike Nalepa with the hat trick assist.

HAWKS   1   FLYERS   0

Finally we can talk goalies!  Hawks sub Rick “Ticker” Chauvin with two outstanding performances in nets today, as he records the whitewash in game two!  Hats off to “Ticker”, who I have know since he was my left wing in the checking days at Fraser Hockey-Land!  Wearing his Hulk t-shirt following the game – Flyers goal-keep Kirk “Captain America” Larson was also outstanding in nets!  Jeff Funk with the games only goal!
