HAWKS   4   HABS   1

Is it possible to play a perfect game?  This was as close as it gets for the Hawks as they completely dominate the top spot Habs!  The Hawks deserved this win with precision type passing and winning every 50/50 battle for the puck!  Captain John “Shifty” Shelton with a beautiful tip and a shake and bake breakaway goals.  Ward Peterson with an open net rebound backhand slam dunk.  Robbie Olmstead with one of his patented stretch pass goals!  The Hawks killed off four penalties including one full two minute 5 on 3 in the final period when the game was still in question.  Goaler “Smoking” Joe Polizzi with a surprisingly light work load.  Nate McCoughtry with the Habs lone goal.

FLYERS   3    HAWKS   2

Pat “The Beast” Wosek scores late in the final stanza to tie it up for the Flyers.  Brian Moore and Mike “King of the Road” Miller with singles.  After three consecutive victories to start the playoffs, the Hawks are finally dealt a loss.  Robbie Olmstead and Ward Peterson score for the Hawks.

SHARKS   2     BRUINS   2

After dropping their first two games of the playoffs, the Bruins pick up three points today!  Joey Ventimiglio and “Old Man” Jack Priauix score for the men in yellow.  Brian Barr and sub Steve Bayagich with the Sharks markers.  Both puck stoppers – Rodney Heid and Billy Schaugg with excellent games in nets!

HABS   11     WINGS   4

Whoa!  Guess the Frenchmen didn’t like losing their first game of the playoffs in game one!  The RPM line of Larry “School Boy” Rowe(3 Goals) Bryan Prentice(3 & 2) and Dr. Nate McCoughtry(1 & 4) revs up to a total 13 points in the game to lead the rout!  Subs Paul Erikson and Frank Pewaydon with two goals apiece.  It has been said, that the alarming rate the Wings give up goals that their has been a goaltending issue.  Well – Wings had a sub goalie today and a worse goals against result – 20 goals allowed in today’s doubleheader!  Ouch!  Guess their regular goalie can look at this game and say “It ain’t me!”  The Wings also had three very capable sub defenseman playing today.  The Boyette’s – Dad Terry and son Ryan with Wings goals.  Joey Reiss and Mike Nalepa also score for the Wings.  Rob Rowling picks up a playful unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, as he purposely sprays Wings net-minder Dar with ice shavings!  Dar was not too happy!
