WEEK THREE – PLAYOFFS

BRUINS   9   WINGS   0

Oh boy!  Here we go again for the Wings!  To a man – they cannot wait for this nightmarish season to end!  Bruins – Deuces wild for the John’s – McNeilly and Cornish.  Ray Tonelli with a goal and three helpers: “I just slide the puck to the good guys” Ray says.  Craig Bastuba, Rex Baker and subs Paul Erikson and Garnowciz also with goals.  Rodney Heid with the five save shutout.

HABS   8    FLYERS   3

The RPM line of Larry Rowe(1 & 3), Bryan Prentice(2 & 1) and Nate McCoughtry(3 & 2) total 13 points in the game for the Frenchmen.  Habs sub Frank Pewaydon with a two goal game.  Steve Bittner(2) and Billy Knight, who was all over ice, playing a very strong game – score for the Flyers.

SHARKS   8     HAWKS   3

Billy Mac Jr. scores his first of two goals a buck into the game and the onslaught was on!  Mike Riddle also with the deuce.  Singles for “Downtown” Jimmy Brown(Also 3 Helpers), Mike Ala, sub Tim Craddock and returning from his lengthy contractual holdout – Captain Jeff Ivory.  Goaler Billy Schaugg with an assist.  John “Shifty” Shelton(2) and buddy Marty Papesh with the Hawks markers.

BRUINS   3    HABS   2

The Bruins and goalie Rodney Heid play a very strong game and remain undefeated in their past two doubleheaders!  Bruins sub Garrick with an excellent game, participating in all of his teams scoring with a 1 & 2 game.  John McNeilly and Ray “Dog” Tonelli also score.  Ray’s game winning goal was a thing of beauty, as center John McNeilly made a beautiful no look backhand cross crease pass to Ray and Ray makes no mistake as he buries it top shelf!  Nate McCoughtry with a first period goal for the Habs, who remain in the top spot in the playoff standings.  The Habs make things interesting, as Pierre Dugas scores with the goalie pulled on a well placed backhand shot with just over a minute left in the game – to no avail!  Habs sub net-minder Chris”King” Arthur was excellent between the pipes!

FLYERS   3     SHARKS   1

The Flyers get back on track after their game one debacle, with goals from Mike “King of the Road” Miller, Brian Moore and Billy “The Dark” Knight.  Goaler Kirk “Captain America” Larson was simply outstanding in nets!  Billy Mac Jr. was the only Shark to solve Captain America!  The Sharks remain in second place in the playoffs, one point behind the Habs.

HAWKS   4   WINGS   0

The Hawks methodically dismantle the Wings behind goals from Robbie Olmstead, Scott Leslie, Marty Papesh and Donnie Riviera.  “Smoking” Joe Polizzi with the whitewash.  The Wings remain winless in the playoffs as they fail to score in today’s doubleheader.
