WINGS   2    BRUINS   1

Line-mates Brian Moore and Mike Miller score for the Wings as they defeat the Bruins in this penalty free tight checking game.  “Smoking” Joe Polizzi and Bruins sub goaler “Vacuum” Bissell both with strong games in nets.  Mike “Padre” Nalepa with the Bruins lone goal.

FLYERS   3     HAWKS   0

The story of this game was Flyers goalie Billy Schaugg, who reverted back to his days of playing goalie for Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, as the Hawks out shot the Flyers by a 37 to 15 margin!  Nice game Billy!  Pat “The Beast” Wosek, Mike Riddle and an empty net shorthanded goal by Rob Rowling round out the Flyers scoring.  No Hawks highlights as they remain winless in their past five games.

HABS   6    SHARKS   2

The Frenchmen win the battle for the first place as they harpoon the Sharks!  Deuces wild for speedsters Bryan Prentice and Scott Chodun.  Singles for Larry “School Boy” Rowe and John Cornish.  Ward Peterson and Craig Bastuba score for the Fish.

HAWKS   5    BRUINS   3

The Hawks snap their five game winless streak as they dominate the Bruins!  Dr. Nate McCoughtry with a two goal game.  Rob “Rickie” Middleton, John “Shifty” Shelton, on a highlight reel top shelf backhand goal and executing his famed Gordie Howe breakaway move – Curt Lesnau finish out the Hawks scoring.  Center John McNeilly(2) and Mike Nalepa with the Bruins markers.  Hawks center Steve “Mario” Lemieux picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.

WINGS   6    SHARKS   5

The Wings take a deuce today and the Sharks drop a rare deuce today.  I believe it is no coincidence that the Sharks did not have the services of Billy Mac Jr. today!  Winger Steve Bayagich with a two goal game for the Wings.  Singles for Mike “King of the Road” Miller, Brian Moore, Robbie Olmstead and sub Lenny Gerbino.  Sharks sub “Smiling” Scott Davenport with a two goal game.  Singles for “Scowling” Scot Leslie, Ward Peterson and Timmy “Dutch” Schultz.   Sharks sub Scott Davenport picks up simultaneous holding and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.  A minute later, Brian Moore of the Wings and another Sharks sub “Vin” Scully, take turns chopping each other and both receive minor high-sticking infractions and hit the box in tandem.

HABS   2    FLYERS   2

The Habs are now undefeated in their past five games as they vault into first place with the tie!  Steve Bittner and Dougie Roehl tally for the Frenchmen.  Big Rob Rowling with both Flyers markers.  Both goalies – Billy Schaugg and Dar were stellar in nets!  The Flyers exhibited two well played games today.  The big guys – Pierre Dugas(Slashing) of the Habs and Rob Rowling(Cross Checking) of the Flyers trade warm greetings as they skate to the sin bin together.
