WINGS    7    HABS   6

Whoa!  It was 3-3 after the games first seven minutes!  The goalies will not be named in this contest!  The Habs needed at least a point in this game to stay in contention for first place.  It didn’t happen!  Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the trick for the Wings.  Mike Nalepa with the deuce and four helpers.  Singles for Eddie Sudzina and Terry Boyette who also pitched in with three helpers.  Dr. Nate McCoughtry and sub Greg Calvin both with two goals.  Singles for Curt Lesnau and Pierre Dugas who also had three assists.  Big Rob Rowling of the Wings picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.

SHARKS   5    HAWKS   4

Hawks up 4-3 – then the Sharks score twice within a minute late in the game for the W.   Billy Mac Jr and young sub Marcel Dimitri with two goals apiece.  Jimmy “Jets” Galloway also with a goal.  Hawks – Steve “With a Nod and A” Wink, John Shelton, Ward Peterson and sub Trevor Thompson.  An ugly incident happened as “Downtown” Jimmy Brown violently body checks the Hawks Donnie Rivera and sends him flying into the boards.  Brown picked up a five minute body checking infraction and a game misconduct.  Rivera was O.K. – but he wasn’t too happy about the incident!

BRUINS   6    FLYERS   0

The Flyers entered the game only two points behind the leading Sharks.  The Bruins put the Flyers first place aspirations to rest as they totally dominate in the game!  Center John McNeilly with the deuce.  Singles for Brian Reath, Chuck Bowers, Craig Bastuba and sub Mike Folster.  Right winger “Angry” Joe Ventmiglio played facilitator with four helpers.  Goals against leader rookie Rodney Heid with the relatively easy whitewash.

BRUINS   4    WINGS   3

Bakers Bruins jump out to an early 3-0 zip lead with just over three minutes expired in the contest and hang on for the victory.  Center John Cornish with a two goal game.  Singles for John McNeilly and once again sub Mike Folster who scored 27 seconds into the game.   The Bruins end the season only two points behind the first place Sharks in the first half standings.  Left winger Eddie Sudzina(2) and Rob Rowling tally for the Wings.

HABS   6    SHARKS   3

Dr. Nate scores his first of two goals 13 ticks into the game, as the Habs defeat the top spot Sharks for the fourth time this year!  The Sharks had zero answer against the Frenchmen in the season’s first half.  Habs sub Greg Kalvin with another two goal game.  Singles for Curt Lesnau and Al Pyc.  Billy Mac Jr.(2) and Jimmy Galloway do the scoring for the Fish.  The Sharks were minus their top center and the leagues penalty minute leader “Downtown” Jimmy Brown this game, as he was disqualified due to his game misconduct in game one.

HAWKS    6    FLYERS   2

The Hawks end up in the basement in season one.  But – watch out for them in season two, as they patch up their Swiss cheese defense, as they move Marty Papesh and Steve Wink to the forward positions and Captain John “Shifty” Shelton back to D.  The Dutchman – Timmy Schultz tommy guns in two goals for the Hawks.  Scott “Scowling” Leslie also with a two goal game.  Steve Wink and sub Dana Boyette also with goals.  Ward Peterson with the hat trick assist.  Net-minder “Smoking” Joe Polizzi with a yeoman’s effort in nets.  The leagues leading scorer Mike “King of the Road” Miller and Billy “The Dark” Knight tally for the Flyers as they drop a deuce today.
