Deuces wild for Al Phipps and Jimmy George.  Scott Shurin with the game winner for the victorious Sharks.  Ageless Sharks sub goalie Bruno Tadolini was stellar in nets.   Steve Lemieux and subs Scott Leslie and Bob “Bugsy” Watson score for the Frenchmen.

Gary Enmark scores the game tying goal with seven minutes left in the final period.  Al Pyc with the Hawks initial goal.  Gerry Krause and sub Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence do the honors for the sub laden Wings, who had six subs today!  Both goalies – Mike Allemon of the Wings and Mike Mostyn of the Hawks with strong performances in nets.

Ouch!  Six final period goals propel the Bruins to the massacre.  Robbie Porter with the trick.  Adam Godard with the deuce.  Singles for Al Sparks, Keith Lutz and sub Lawson.  Sub goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin with the “Gimme” whitewash.  No French highlights as they drop two today.

Bob Halbhuber records the trick for the Flyers.  Rookie of the year Ryan O’Rourke with a two goal game.  The frisky Chuck Mouraine with a single.  Master facilitator Howard Smith with the hat trick assist.  Wings subs Paul Giles, “Magnum” Higgins and “Micky” Brantley light the lamp.  Flyers forward Chuck Mouraine with simultaneous slashing and unsportsmanlike minor penalties.

The top spot Flyers run away with first place and just keep on rolling!  Keith Foucher and Ryan O’Rourke with two goals apiece.  Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan and sub “Mark” Maguire with singles.  Billy Hagen with a huge four assist game!  Goals against leader Mike Schlimgen with a light workload.  James George with the Sharks lone goal.  Flyers forward Ryan O’Rourke(Chop) took exception to Sharks sub Jim “Vin” Scully(Hold) and both hit the box in tandem.

HAWKS   2    BRUINS   1

Winning goalie Mike Mostyn and Bruins sub Rick Chauvin put on a puck stopping show for the empty arena!  Eddie ‘The Eagle” Higgins and sub Glen Paraskevin with the Hawks markers.  After putting up an eight spot in game one – Robbie Porter with the only Bruins marker.  Mark Munsterman(Trip & Unsportsmanlike) and “Gentleman” Don Courtley(Slash) exchange pleasantries.  Rick Batchelder(Roughing Minor) did not like a Mike Mostyn chop and both receive minor penalties.

 

It’s been four years since a Canadian was selected first overall in the draft.
