The Flyers dip deep into their farm club and receive big dividends from sub Vigi, as he scores their initial and game winning goals.

Singles for snipers Mike Ala and Bruce “Cooler Man'” Gooel.  Bruins forward Rick Batchelder scores his first of two goals of the short handed variety at the 23 second mark of the final period.  Bobby Watson with the Bruins late final marker.

HABS   1   WINGS   1

Shades of Jacques Plante and Terry Sawchuk as both teams goalies play an outstanding game.

The Habs Sir Kevin Beebe and Grand Rapids call up Paul Kaczmarek take turns swatting the

puck away.  Habs sub Krause finds the back of the net and eight minutes later Stevie Lambert for the Wings ties the game up in the first stanza.

That would be the games only scoring.  The Habs Steve Orr and the Wings Barry Piornack both receive

the “Fred Astaire” award as they hit the box together for “Holding” minors.

HAWKS   3     SHARKS   1

Mark Smyth puts the Hawks up two zip with two first period markers.  Ronnie Meltsner with a final period goal.

Goaltender “Sugar” John Marchin stood on his head in this contest!  Joe Plati with the lone Sharks goal.

No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

BRUINS    5   WINGS   2

Wings up 2-1 entering the final period.  The Bruins respond with four final period unanswered goals as they split for the day.

The Bruins score four different ways in this game – regular strength, power play, short handed and an empty netter.

Counselor Tom McHugh, Adam Godard, Rick Batchelder, “Motor City” Eddie Kowalczyk and sub Steve Lemieux do the honors for the Bruins.  Barry Piornack and once again Stevie Lambert with the Wings goals.  Bob “Bugsy” Watson picks up a solo roughing minor penalty for the Bruins.

The Fish split for the day.  Jimmy “Boog” Powell, Joe Plati, sub “Magnum” Higgins and the one and only – Kevin Mahon

Pat Collins breaks the 3-3 tie late in the final period with his third goal of the game!  Fedora’s littered the Troy

Arena ice for Collin’s trick.  Flyers sub “Fred” Lynn batted in their second goal as the top spot Flyers remain undefeated in five straight contests.  James George with the Hawks final two goals.
