SHARKS   5    HAWKS   2

Da Sharks pick up a must win, behind the two goal effort of Joe Plati.  Singles for Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich, David Walters and sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux.  Mark Smyth with both Hawks markers in this penalty free game.

FLYERS   2    BRUINS   1

All the scoring in period one as the Flyers pick up a must win W.  Jimmy George with a very late game winning first period goal.   Keith Foucher with the Flyers initial marker.  Randy Debuel with a bomb from the point scores for the Bruins.  Winning goalie Mike Schlimgen and Bruins puck stopper Bobby Rutkoske both with excellent efforts between the pipes!  Again – no trips to the sin bin for either squad.

WINGS   4   HABS   3

The visiting Wings go to their Grand Rapids farm club and get a hat trick effort from callee Vigi.  Fellow sub Dougie Roehl with the their first goal.  Terry Masserant of the Habs records his first two goal game since he was a long blonde hair prodigy in the mid 70’s!  Mike Ala goes five hole for the Frenchmen.

FLYERS   5     HAWKS   3

Another must win for the Flyers, as they score three times in just under three minutes late in the first period!  Deuces wild for Jimmy George and Keith Foucher – who is having a breakout season this year!  Big Ben Haynes with the Flyers first goal.  Marty Sell(2) and Scott Shurin tally for the last place Hawks, as they end the second half with consecutive doubleheader losses.

WINGS   4    BRUINS   0

Goaler Mike Mostyn of the Wings posts the well earned whitewash.  The newly constructed MVP line, of league assist leader Ronnie Meltsner(1 & 2), sub Vigi(1 & 2) and Al Pyc(1 & 2) total nine points in the game, in a dominating performance.  Sub Chapie with the Wings final marker.  Following the game, Wings forward Parker Johnson loudly proclaims: “Watch out for the Wings in the playoffs – we are going too roll!”  You go Parker!  No Bruins highlights, as they only produce one goal in today’s games.

SHARKS   1     HABS   0

Whoa!  Sharks gotta win and they do in fine tantalizing style!  Tied in points with the Flyers, but posting a better head to head record, the Sharks end up in the top spot in the second half standings.  League shutout leader Brian Miller was simply amazing in this game!  Brian had has game face on today!  David Walters goes backdoor for the only goal of the game, on a precision pass from line-mate Pat Collins!  The Frenchmen drop a deuce today – but never count out a Kenny Wilkins led playoff team!
