WEEK TWO – PLAYOFFS

WINGS   3   SHARKS   1

The Wings play an efficient and methodical game and harpoon the Sharks.  Ronnie Meltsner, Bobby Watson and sub “Scowling” Scott Leslie score for the Wings.  Net-minder Mike Mostyn with an excellent game between the pipes!  Pat Collins was the only Shark to solve Mr. Mostyn.

BRUINS   2    FLYERS   0

Goalkeep Bobby Rutkoske had the high powered Flyers talking to themselves in this contest!  Rutkoske was simply outstanding in nets!  Adam Godard and sub Chuck Mouraine dent the twine for the Bruins.  No Flyers highlights.

HABS   3     HAWKS   3

“Gentleman” Don Courtley goes top shelf with nine ticks left in the game, for the tying power play goal!  It only took five seconds for Courtley to tie the game up, after Hawks defenseman Richie Anderson entered the penalty box and didn’t even have time to sit down.  Mike Ala with the first two French goals.  Mark Smyth(2) and Scott Shurin were the Hawks marksman.

FLYERS   4    HAWKS   4

The Hawks pick up their first point of the playoffs, as they surrender a last minute goal for the tie!  Flyers forward Keith Foucher scores his second goal of the game with just under a minute left in the contest.  Jimmy George also with a two goal game for the Flyers. Brian Belloli with the hat trick assist.  Hawks – Mark Smyth, Peter Gibb, Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel and “The Prodigal Son” Kevin Mahon.  Kevin just returned from the Texas/Mexican border, looking to help out his “Buddy” with “The Wall”.  No trips to the sin bin for either team.

SHARKS   4     BRUINS   0

Both teams split for the day.  Da Sharks dominate from start to finish in this contest!  Brian Miller with the whitewash.  Pat Collins with the deuce.  Singles for Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins and scoring machine Joe Plati.  No Bruins highlights.

WINGS   6    HABS   2

Mr. Bob “Bugsy” Watson with a huge playoff four goal game as the Wings sweep for the day and win their third game in a row!  “Here’s to you Dad!” As Paul Giles scores twice for his Dad, who just recently passed away!  Our sincere condolence’s Paul!   Reminds me of the night of my Mom’s funeral.  Rang up a four spot for Mom at Fraser HockeyLand!  Mom didn’t even like hockey!  Mike Ala and Donald Courtley with the Habs goals.
