PINE KNOB IS BACK AS IT SHOULD BE!

REMINDS ME OF A FINE SUMMER EVENING IN 1982 ON THE HILL WITH MY THREE DATES

AT THE MARSHALL TUCKER CONCERT.

FOR SOME REASON THE GIRLS BROUGHT SQUIRT GUNS WITH THEM.

THEY DECIDED TO START SHOOTING THE FULL COLORED BIKER GANG SITTING NEXT TO US!

I THOUGHT – OH BOY, THIS IS NOT GOOD!

THE BIKERS LOVED IT, AS WE DRANK AND SHARED ALL KINDS OF THINGS WITH THEM – LOL!

TWO GAMES LEFT IN THE SECOND HALF SEASON.

WE HAVE THE FLYERS UP BY A POINT OVER THE WINGS AND THREE POINTS UP ON THE SHARKS!

FLYERS    6    WINGS   0

Both teams tied for first place going into the game!  The Flyers shutout the Wings in consecutive weeks!  Hats off to Flyers goal-keep Brian Miller!  Sammy “The Bull” Bonnanno with the trick and a shorthanded goal to boot.  Singles for Ryan O’Rourke, Stevie Lambert and sub Doug “Jeff” Beck.  No Wings highlights.  The Flyers sub Jeff Beck and no stranger to the penalty box, Ken Debus of the Wings incur roughing minor penalties.

HAWKS    1     BRUINS   1

This was the sub goalie game!  “Ticker” Chauvin of the Bruins and Rodney Heid of the Hawks both stand on their proverbial heads and turn away shot after shot!  Doug Wargo with the Bruins marker.  Jimmy George scores with five minutes left in the game for the Hawks.

SHARKS   5     HABS   5

Sharks go into the final period feeling pretty good up 2-0.  Flood gates open for both teams in period two!  John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini scores twice for the Habs.  Singles for Mike Ala, Donald Courtley and sub Matt Lawson.  The line of  Ben Haynes(2 & 2),  Bruce Gooel(1 & 3) and General Robert E. Lee(1 & 2) total eleven points in the game for the Sharks.  Sub Scott “Bobby” Mercer also with a goal.   “The Little Ball of Hate” and Randy Debuel take turns chopping each other and hit the box in tandem.

FLYERS   3     SHARKS   3

The third tie of the night!  The Sharks were down early 2-0 and down late 3-1.  They continue to swim against the current and persevere with a well earned tie!  Bruce “The Enabler” Gooel with an absolute blast for the game tying goal!  General Lee and sub Scott Mercer also tally for the host Sharks.  Sammy Bonanno with his fourth and fifth goals of the night for the Flyers and another shorthanded marker.  Steve Lemieux with the Flyers middle marker as the streaking Flyers are now undefeated in their past five contests!

BRUINS   4    HABS   2

The Bruins spread out the scoring: Bobby Watson, Ronnie Meltsner, Rob “Hurricane” Halbhuber and sub Brian Gross.  Robert Stempian and sub Matt Lawson tally for the Frenchmen.

WINGS   6    HAWKS   0

Whoa!  Where did this come from?  The goal starved Wings run roughshod over the Hawks!  Bobby Rutkoske with the 12 save shutout.  Those brand new white oversized goalie pads were not working this game for sub Rodney Heid!  Chuck Mouraine with the trick for the Wings.  Singles for Keith Foucher, Mark Smyth and Al Sparks.  This was a penalty free game.

What is older than the automobile, airplane, radio and everyone who is alive today?
The Stanley Cup!
