WITH A HEAVY HEART!

A MOMENT OF SILENCE WAS OBSERVED AT CENTER ICE BY

BOTH TEAMS PRIOR TO EACH GAME.

RIP CHRIS ZANKE!

FLYERS   2     WINGS   1

Flyers sub Lance Kos and Mark Smyth of the Wings both score shorthanded goals as the game is tied 1-1.  Sammy “Bananas” Bonanno of the Flyers goes five hole at the face-off dot, for the late game winning goal!  Both goalies – Brian Miller of the Flyers and sub Rodney Heid of the Wings with excellent games between the pipes!

SHARKS   5    BRUINS   2

Returning from a lower body injury, General Robert E. Lee leads his troops with the deuce!  Singles for Steve Dietrich, Marty Sell and Eddie Higgins.  Goaler Mike Schlimgen with a strong game in nets.  Right winger Ronnie Meltnser and center Rob Halbhuber tally for the men in yellow in this penalty free game.

HABS   6     HAWKS   5

Deuces wild for Robert Stempian and sub Matt Dawson as the Habs win streak continues!  Mike Ala and “Gentleman” Don Courtley also with French goals.  Hawks captain Billy Hagen factors in on all five of his teams goals with a 1 & 4 game!  Jimmy George with a two goal game.  Adam Godard and Robbie Porter with singles in another penalty free game.

FLYERS   3     BRUINS   1

The Flyers play today’s game with only nine players, as they were missing one of their top permanent subs Jeff Beck with a late call in.  Flyers jump out to a 3-0 first period lead and mostly dominate this game.  Steve Lemieux(SH), Sam Bonanno and sub Lance Kos tally for the Flyers.  Joe Plati chips in a rebound for the Bruins.  The score of this game would have been much worse if not for the herculean efforts of Bruins goalie Rick ‘Ticker” Chauvin who shined in nets!  “Ticker” was also very verbally entertaining, as he was spewing and spitting with food particles stuck in his mask, at his own players, the referee’s and anyone who could understand him!  The guy was ticked off!  Ha Ha – pun intended!

WINGS    4     HABS   2

Deuces wild for Dave Herkowitz and Chuck Mouraine as the top spot Wings split on the day.  The Habs receive goals from Brian Belloli and Robert Stempian as their mini-winning streak get snapped.

SHARKS   4    HAWKS   3

This was a wild one as, General Lee scores a late game winning goal to break the 3-3 tie!  Mary Sell with the deuce.  Captain Steve Dietrich also with a Shark goal as they sweep on the day.  Jimmy George scores twice for the Hawks and Jeff Tracy goes far side low.  This last place Hawks team is sort of an anomaly.  They lead the league in goals scored and goals allowed!  Pretty crazy!  There was some stuff going down in the first period, as the Hawks Jack Priauix and the Sharks Marty Sell each receive major 4 minute and 10 minute roughing penalties as they sat most of the first period!  See the referee’s call below.  Not to be outdone, Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins picks up his own solo minor roughing penalty.
