FLYERS   5    HAWKS   2

Whoa!  The Flyers hand the talent laden Hawks their first L of the season!  In convincing fashion to boot!  Hawks jump out to a quick 2-0 first period lead and it was all Flyers from there!  Robert E. Lee with a two goal game for the Flyers.  Singles for Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel, and subs “Magnum” Higgins and Steve “Mario” Lemieux.  Steve Orr and Mike Ala with the Hawks markers.  Jimmy Lemire picks up a solo roughing minor penalty for the Hawks.

WINGS   2    BRUINS   0

Ronnie Meltsner and now permanent sub John Schroder score first period goals for the Wings and receive excellent shutout goaltending from Mike Schlimgen!  Zero Bruins highlights in this penalty free game.

HABS   3    SHARKS   2

Jeff Ivory scores twice for the second time in two games for the Frenchmen, including the game winner with five minutes left in the contest.  John Perini with the Habs initial marker.  Marty Sell with both Sharks goals.  Both goalies – winning goalie Sir Kevin Beebe(Who behaved himself this game) and Mike Allemon with strong games between the pipes.

BRUINS   5    HAWKS   2

What’s going here?  The Hawks lose their second game of the season as they get trounced again by the identical lopsided score!  Deuces wild for Jimmy George and Adam Godard.  Providence call up Altherr also with a Bruins goal.  Chuck Mouraine with the hat trick assist.  Mike Ala and Mark Smyth score for the Hawks, who now do not seem as invinciable as once thought.  Bruins forward Chuck Mouraine receives a solo roughing minor penalty.

WINGS  5     SHARKS   3

The Wings rifle in five final period goals to sweep for the day!  Just back from Key West – the tanned Keith Foucher with the deuce.  Singles for Billy Hagen, Mark Munsterman and Mike Lawson.  Al Phipps, Barry Piornack and sub Churilla score for the Fish as they drop a deuce today.

HABS   3     FLYERS   3

Both teams pick up three points today.  Flyers sub Steve Lemieux with a two goal game.  Fellow sub Higgins with an unassisted marker.  This guy loves bad angle shots – Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence, “Gentleman” Don Courtley and sub Lawson do the honors for the Habs in this penalty free game.
