FLYERS    7     HAWKS   2

Mr. James George scores twice each period, for a huge four goal game!  Keith Foucher, Al Sparks and Brian Belloli(Also 3 Helpers) with singles.  Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel and sub Rick Batchelder tally for the Hawks.

BRUINS   2   WINGS   1

Big upset here!  Da Bruins play an excellent game, as Adam Godard scores his second goal of the game with just 30 ticks left on the Troy Arena clock!  Puck Stopper Bobby Rutkoske was in rare form, reverting back to the Gumby days of his youth!  Bobby Watson with the lone Wings marker.

SHARKS   3   HABS   2

All the scoring accomplished in the first period, as the Sharks score three times in just over three minute span late in the period.  Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich with the game winner.  Singles for Al “Mike” Phipps and Pat Collins.  Steve Orr scores 20 seconds into the game for the Habs.  Mike Ala also with a French goal.  Both goaltenders – Brian Miller of the Sharks and Sir Kevin Beebe of the Habs were outstanding in nets in this penalty free game.

BRUINS   3     HAWKS   3

You could feel the electricity in the air – as the battle for last place unfolded!  Fittingly – it ended in a tie.  As the Bruins pick up three points today – they are now tied for last place with the Hawks.  What is amazing – is that the Hawks have not won in their past 11 games and still share the dubious distinction of cellar dweller.  Wow!  Marty Sell of the Hawks scores with the goalie pulled for the tie!  Jimmy “One Skate” Sauter and Mark Smyth also score for the Hawks.  Bruins – Adam Godard, P. Kaczmarek and sub Bill Fay.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

WINGS   7     SHARKS   2

The Wings harpoon the Sharks as both teams are now tied for first place!  The line of Bob “Bugsy” Watson(3 & 1), Ronnie Meltsner(2 & 3) and sub Mike Lawson(1 & 4) total 14 points in the game, as the Fish had no answer for this formidable threesome!  John “Hal” NcRae also with a Wings goal.  David Walters and Barry Piornack score for the Sharks in this penalty free game.

HABS   2     FLYERS   2

Mike Ala scores his second goal of the game, with just 37 seconds left on the clock with the goalie pulled, to secure the tie for the Habs.  Al Sparks and Brian Belloli tally for the Flyers.  Both goalies – Sir Kevin Beebe and Flyers sub Rick ‘Ticker” Chauvin shined in nets!  “Gentleman” Don Courtley picks up a solo roughing minor penalty for the Frenchmen.
