BRUINS   6    HABS   3

Bruins sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux scores on consecutive shifts in the first period as the Bruins drop the Habs.  Adam Godard, Rick Batchelder, Tommy Trice and “Super” sub Danny “Don’t Call Me Steve” Shannon, who also contributed three helpers round out the Bruins scoring.  Jeff “Dick” Tracy tommy guns in a deuce and Chris Zanke tally for the Habs in this penalty free contest.

FLYERS   2   SHARKS   1

Flyers sub “Hal” McRae scores both of their goals, as puck stopper Mike Mostyn stood on his head in this contest!  Scoring machine Jimmy “Boog” Powell was the only Shark to find the back of the net, in this well played and very entertaining contest.

HAWKS    4    WINGS   3

The Hawks come back from a 3-2 first period deficit to clip the Wings.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley with a two goal game.  Singles for Al Pyc and Ronnie Meltsner.  Grand Rapids call up Vigi(2) and Dougie Roehl tally for the Wings.

HAWKS   4   HABS   3

The Hawks sweep by identical scores today, as the Frenchmen are now winless in their last six contests.  This is a very unlike Kenny Wilkins product!  Al Pyc with the deuce for the Hawks.  Mark Smyth and sub Scott Leslie also with Hawks markers.  “Sugar” John Marchin with another workmanlike effort in nets.  Kenny Wilkins, Chris Zanke and sub Lawson dent the twine for the Habs.  Habs forward Dave Walters picks up a delay of game penalty, which results in the Hawks game winning power play goal.

WINGS   5     FLYERS   1

1-1 entering the final stanza.  Then the Wings proceed to rip off three goals in a three minute span for the W.  Flyers goaler Mike Mostyn was a little unhappy to say the least!  Paulie “Jay” Giles strums in a deuce.  Singles for Stevie Lambert, Dougie Roehl and sub Vigi.  Wings net minder Mike Schlimgen with a solid effort between the pipes.  Gary Enmark was the only Flyer to light the lamp behind Schlimgen.

BRUINS   8    SHARKS   1

Da Bruins got the offense going today as they total 14 goals in a doubleheader sweep!  Rick Batchelder with the trick!  Steve Lemieux contributes another two goal game.  Singles for Adam Godard and subs “Fred” Lynn and Danny Shannon.  A very light workload for goalie Bobby Rutkoske.  Joe Plati – who never took a shot he didn’t like – with the Sharks lone goal.
Which NHL player holds the record of scoring a goal in 13 consecutive games?

Hint – He wore # 11.

Charlie Simmer – L.A. Kings
