SHARKS   5     FLYERS   3

Da Sharks dominate this game behind the two goal effort of retired Mt. Clemens and Florida postman – sub Gary Szalanski.  Singles for Barry Piornack, Doug Wargo and Joe Plati.  Net-Minder Brian Miller with his usual solid game between the pipes.  Flyers – James George, Brian Belloli and Al Sparks.

HABS   5    BRUINS   2

1-1 entering the final stanza – then the Frenchmen score four times in just over the first eight minutes of the final period, to send the Bruins into hibernation!  Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins with the deuce.  Singles for Steve Orr, Al Platt and Mike Ala.  Sir Kevin Beebe was strong in nets.  Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence and Adam Godard tally for the men in yellow.

HAWKS   4    WINGS   2

Wings up one zip entering the final period.  Then Mark Smyth and sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux both score twice for the Hawks to send the Wings to defeat.  “Sugar” John Marchin shined in nets for the Hawks.  Ronnie Meltsner and Al Pyc with the Wings markers.

BRUINS   3    SHARKS   0

Whoa!  The last place Bruins upend the top spot Sharks behind the acrobatic puck stopping of retired Holley Carburetor, Clawson Fire Dept. and Chrysler employee Rick “Ticker” Chauvin.  I think this guy receives more pensions than Howard Smith!  Jeff “Dick” Tracy, Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan and playing his final game till the 2018 Olympics next week – Russian sub Niecalek do the honors for the Bruins.  The Sharks remain in first place in the standings despite this dismal showing.

HAWKS   2    HABS   1

Undefeated in their past three contests – the Hawks climb out of the cellar as they sweep for the day.  Following up his fine play this weekend in the Belle River Tournament –  Pete Gibb and Mark Smyth score for the Hawks.  As in game one – “Sugar” John Marchin with an excellent game in nets!  Steve Orr was the only Hab to solve Mr. Marchin.

FLYERS   7    WINGS   4

Following up his four goal effort in game one last week.  Mr. James George tops that with a huge five goal game in this contest!  The Keith’s – Foucher and Lutz with singles.  Ronnie Meltsner(2), Al Pyc and Bob “Bugsy” Watson with the Wings markers in this penalty free game.

A true fact!
Stan Bowman- the son of Scotty, is the current Vice President and general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Stan is named after the Stanley Cup!
When he was young, he was always called Stanley Cup Bowman!
As a four year old, Stanley Cup Bowman was crushed when he found out his real name name was Stanley Bowman NOT Stanley Cup Bowman!
Nice job Scotty!
