SHARKS   4    WINGS   0

Mike Schlimgen spins the whitewash as the Sharks dominate this contest.  Big Ben Haynes, Dave Wargo and subs Stevie Lambet and the bespectacled John Higgins all light the lamp.  No Wings highlights in this penalty free game.

FLYERS   3     HABS   1

The Flyers snap their four game losing streak behind the fine puck stopping efforts of Bobby Rutkoske.  John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini, Chuck Mouraine and sub Paul Violassi tally for the Flyers.  Captain Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins with their lone tally.

HAWKS    5    BRUINS   2

The Hawks play an overall strong game and unceremoniously terminate the Bruins four game win streak.  Al Sparks with the deuce for the Hawks.  Singles for Billy Hagen(Breakaway), Mark Smyth and sub Jeff Funk.  American sniper Ronnie Meltsner with both Bruins markers.

HAWKS   7    WINGS   1

Very appropriate!  The Hawks sweep today and ascend into first place in the standings on National Bird Day!  The Hawks score twice in the games first minute and the rout was on!  Sub Jeff Funk with the hat trick.  Billy Hagen with the deuce.  Singles for Rob “Hurricane” Halbulber and the slimmed down, sub Larry “School Boy” Rowe.  Wings sub Scott Leslie with their only goal of the day.  Wings enforcer Chris Zanke takes exception to a Jack Priauix hook and picks up his third roughing minor penalty in his last three games.  What’s going on with this talent laden Wings team?  Two weeks ago they were in first place by three points over the second place team.  Now they are in fourth place!  This team is dropping quicker that the 1929 stock market crash, even with finicial wiz Paul Giles and CPA’S Chris Zanke and “Sugar” John Marchin on the team!  Maybe Dr. Keri Topouzian can apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding!

FLYERS   5     SHARKS   2

2-2 entering the final stanza, then the Flyers score three unanswered goals for the doubleheader sweep!  Sub Paul Violassi leads the way with a two goal game.  Singles for Chuck Mouraine, Gerry Krause and Jimmy George.  The Flyers played their sixth straight game minus Captain Ryan O’Rourke, who threatens to return next week from his Naples Florida vacation.  As in game one – Ben Haynes and sub John Higgins score for the Fish.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

HABS    5    BRUINS   2

The Habs jump out to a 3 zip lead and hold on for the W playing a strong game with only nine players today.  Reverting back to the days of his youth – Gary Enmark with a two goal game.  Singles for Mike Ala(Empty Net), Jeff “Dick” Tracy and Kenny Wilkins.  Curt Lesnau buries a juicy rebound at the first period buzzer and line-mate Adam Godard tips in a long point shot for the Bruins goals.

HOF coaches Scotty Bowman and Al Arbour both started their coaching careers with the same team.
Name that NHL team.
Scroll down for the answer.
They were both hired and fired by the St. Louis Blues, who finally won their first Stanley Cup last year!  Bet the Blues have regretted those firings throughout the decades!
