AFTER A WEEK SABBATICAL – WE ARE BACK!

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A SAFE AND HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

FLYERS   4     HAWKS   1

The Flyers respond with three final period goals to declaw the Hawks.  Billy Hagen, Al Sparks, John Zuccarini and Keith Foucher tally for the Flyers.  Goaltender Mike Mostyn was his usual dependable self in nets.  Doug Wargo with the lone Hawks marker.  No trips to the sin bin for either team.

SHARKS   4     HABS   2

Barry Piornack, Ben Haynes, Steve Dietrich and sub Lawson score for the host Sharks as they defeat the Frenchmen.  Ronnie Meltsner and Donald Courtley with the Habs markers.

WINGS   5   BRUINS 2

The leagues leading scorer and scoring machine Jimmy George with the trick for the Wings.  Singles for Brian Belloli and Chuck Mouraine, who also chipped in with three helpers.  Bobby Watson with both Bruins goals.  Now this is an epic touch guy “Pain in the Ass” guys to play against!  Bob “Bugsy” Watson(Roughing and Unsportsmanlike Penalties) and Peter Gibb(Roughing) exchange pleasantries and both slam the penalty box doors in tandem!

BRUINS  1    HAWKS   1

Randy Debuel floats in a knuckler  from the point for the Bruins goal in period one.  Just under three minutes later, Rockford call up Scott “Scowling” Leslie reciprocates for the Hawks.  Both puck stoppers – Sting rookie Keith Connie and Brian Miller were outstanding between the pipes!

HABS   5    FLYERS   2

Both teams split on the day as sniperRonnie Meltsner and Jimmy “Boog” Powell score twice for the Habs.  Mike Ala with the Habs final goal.  Having a splendid rookie season, Flyers Billy Hagen with both of their goals and a solo roughing minor penalty to boot.

SHARKS   1    WINGS   1

Chuck Mouraine scores late in the game for the Wings, as they secure the tie and clinch the top spot in the standings and a two point head start into the playoffs.  Big Ben Haynes with the Sharks goal.  Both goalies – Mike Schlingen and Bobby Rutkoske put on a goaltending clinic  for the empty arena.  Can’t even give away tickets!
