WEEK ONE – PLAYOFFS

HAWKS   2    BRUINS   0

Goaler Keith Konnie blanks the Bruins in a spectacular effort in nets!  Steve Orr and Mark Smyth both score in the final period for the Hawks.  Bruins combative center Bob “Bugsy” Watson, with two final period penalties – the second penalty was a solo roughing minor.

SHARKS   4   HABS   2

The Sharks load up a line and it pays big dividends.  Gary Syzlanski(2 & 2), Ben Haynes(1 & 1) and Steve Dietrich(1 & 1) total eight points in the game as they factor in all of its teams scoring.  Sub goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin was solid in nets.  Jimmy “Boog” Powell and Mike Lawson tally for the Frenchmen in this penalty free game.

FLYERS   2    WINGS   1

Flyers goaler Mike Mostyn says: “Bring it On” as he transitions into playoff mode!  John Zuccarini and Dave “Buckeye” Wahl score for the Flyers.  Sniper Chuck Mouraine with the Wings marker.

HABS    4    BRUINS   1

The Habs score two power play and one shorthanded goals, as their specialty teams were the difference in this contest!  Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins with two unassisted goals.  The Mikes – Ala and Lawson with singles.   Bobby Watson with the Bruins lone goal in todays doubleheader.  Bruins sub Lawson with a solo roughing minor infraction.

SHARKS   4    FLYERS   2

The Fish win by identical scores today as Mark Nuss, Steve Dietrich, Al Phipps and Gary Syzlasnski dent the twine.  Al Platt scores 24 ticks into the game for the Flyers.  Mike “Cherry” Charison with the final Flyers marker.

HAWKS    3    WINGS   0

Whoa!  Hawks puck stopper Keith Konnie spins a doubleheader shutout today!  Shades of former Chicago Black Hawks goalie Glenn Hall!  Mark Smyth with the first two Hawks goals.  Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins with a late game tally.  The Hawks Doug Wargo incurs a two minute solo unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
