REMINDER – NO GAMES NEXT WEEK – HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

FLYERS   2    BRUINS   2

Adam Godard buries his second goal of the game, with their goalie pulled and eight ticks left on the arena clock, for the well earned Bruins tie!  Puck stopper Bobby Rutkose was simply outstanding in the Bruins nets!  Stevie Lambert and Ronnie Meltsner scored for the Flyers.

SHARKS   5    HAWKS   5

This was a wild one!  The Sharks score twice within a 30 second span, to take a 5-4 lead with just under four minutes left in the game!  Then Bruce “Mr. Cooler Man” Gooel scores his fourth goal of the game with 55 seconds remaining on the clock, for the Hawks tie!  Al Platt with the other Hawks marker.  Sharks – Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich, Barry Piornack(Also 3 Helpers), Steve Orr, Jimmy “Boog” Powell  and John Perini.  No trips to the box for either squad.

WINGS   4   HABS   1

Special teams were in vogue for the Wings today, as they score twice on the power play and once minus a player.  Apparently feeling much better these days – sub Bob “Bugsy” Watson with the hat trick!  Fellow sub “Fred” Lynn also with a goal.  Mike Ala with the Habs tally.

FLYERS   8    HAWKS   6

Whoa!  No goalies mentioned in this recap!  Mr. Stevie Lambert with a four goal game for the top spot clinched Flyers.  Sniper Ronnie Meltsner with the trick.  The leagues leading scorer John Zuccarini with a single and three helpers.  The Flyers have now played 22 games and have only one loss!  Pretty formidable indeed!  Al Platt scores twice for the ragamuffin Hawks – who are now winless in their past 14 games!  Mark Smyth, Jimmy George, Mark Munsterman and the venerable Howard Smith with singles.

HABS  4     SHARKS   3

“Gentleman” Don Courtley breaks a 3-3 tie for the Frenchmen, as the Habs and Sharks split for the day.  Peter Gibb with the deuce and Mike Lawson also tally for the French guys.  The Steve’s – Dietrich and Orr and sub “Jumping” Jim Leonardi with Sharks markers.

WINGS   3   BRUINS   0

The Wings sweep for the day as the revitalized Bobby Watson records the deuce for a total of five goals on the day!  Marty Sell also with a Wings goal.  Goaltender Mike Schlimgen with the well earned whitewash.  No Bruins highlights.
