CONGRATS TO THE WINGS AND HAWKS WHO WILL FACE OFF IN NEXT WEEKS

SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!  IT SHOULD BE A BARN BURNER!

WINGS   5     BRUINS   0

Complete domination in this game!  If not for the excellent game of Bruins sub goaltender Papciak, this score would have been much worse!  The Wings spread the wealth:  Steve Orr, Cam Lawrence, Tommy Oswald, Paulie “Jay” Giles and sub Matt Lawson.  Master facilitator General Lee with the hat trick assist.  Wings sub goalie Superman with the 12 save shutout.

HAWKS   4    SHARKS   4

The reenergized Sharks tie the high octane Hawks.  The Higgins brothers, Dave Wargo and Ben Haynes tally for the Fish.  The playoffs top scorer Mark Smyth with the trick!  Rob “Hurricane” Halbulber with the Hawks initial marker.  No trips to the sin bin for either team.

FLYERS    6     HABS   2

The Flyers score all six goals in the first period and lay off the throttle in the final period.  Sub Boice with the deuce.  Singles for fellow sub Paul Vioalssi(Also 3 Helpers), Chuck Mouraine and getting ready for their big day Wednesday St. Patricks Day – Kevin Maguire and Ryan O’Rourke.  Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins and sub Gary Szalanski score for the Habs in this penalty free game.

SHARKS    2    WINGS    0

A game of no consequence as the Wings start looking to next weeks Championship game.  But how bout these Sharks!  Undefeated in their last four games!  Elder-statesman Al Phipps said post game: “Only if the playoffs were longer!”  Al Pyc and Steve Dietrich find the back of the net for the Sharks.  Shutout goalie Mike Schlimgen was outstanding in nets!  No Wings highlights.

FLYERS    5     BRUINS   3

The Flyers hold up their end and sweep today, only to see the Hawks not oblige as the Flyers end up in third place in the playoffs.  70 year old Keith Foucher bangs in three rebounds to lead the Flyers!  Singles for Chuck Mouraine(Also 3 Helpers) and sub Paulie Polizzi.  John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini with the hat trick assist.  So It’s halfway through the first period and the Bruins still have not scored in today’s games.  I proceed to tell the team that whoever scores our first goal gets a $50 gift certificate to Bob Watson’s company The Kitchen.  So what happens?  The very next shift Bob Watson scores and also scores the next shift!  Guess he wanted to keep that $50 bucks!  Captain Adam Godard with the Bruins final marker.

HAWKS   6     HABS   3

Mark Smyth scores a hat trick in game one.  Not good enough for Mark.  He proceeds to score four goals this game!  Nice day eh?  Billy Hagen(Also 4 Helpers) and Brian Belloli with singles as the Hawks go into next week’s Championship game undefeated in their past nine games!  Jeff Tracy, Gentleman Don Courtley and sub Gary Szalanski tally for the Habs.  It’s been a tough playoffs for the Frenchmen as they win their first playoff game and then go winless in their next nine games.

No question this week, just an amazing observation.
Check out the Red Wings 1983 draft.
Of course Stevie is number one, but I am totally intrigued by the bad ass’s they drafted!
Check out the penalty minutes of Probert, Kocur and Grimson!
