IT WILL BE THE FLYERS AND THE HABS IN THE SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP

GAME NEXT WEEK!  GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS!

HAWKS   6    SHARKS   1

The Hawks pump in three goals in each period to spear the Fish.   Dougie Roehl with the trick.  Singles for Mark Smyth, Brian Belloli and James George.  “Sugar” John Marchin with a light workload between the pipes.  Joe Plati with the lone Shark goal.

FLYERS   2    HABS    2

A preview on next weeks Sam Cupp Championship game!  If it’s anything like this game – it should be a barn burner!  Both teams had the same amount of playoff points.  Even though the Frenchmen ended up in first place due to the tie breaker, it will take some more of Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins championship game magic, to upend the heavily favored high powered Flyers!  These Flyers are loaded with the likes of John Zuccarini, Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel, Mike Ala and the vigilant veteran Gary Enmark.  Not to mention the very solid Mike Mostyn in nets.  But never underestimate a Kenny Wilkins directed team!  It should be a packed house next week!  Now to this game.  Mike Ala scores 48 ticks into the game for the Flyers.  The Habs go up 2-1 on goals by “Bruising” Joe Grusling and John Perini.  John Zuccarini ties the game up on a power play marker, as the Habs Chris Zanke picks up his second penalty of the game.  That’s the way this Championship game warmup ended.

BRUINS    2    WINGS   1

Wings up 1-0 on a goal by Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan entering the final period.  Then Al Sparks and Randy Debuel light the lamp for the men in yellow as the Bruins prevail in this penalty free game  Both puck stoppers – Bobby Rutkoske and Mike Schlimgen were outstanding in nets!

BRUINS   5   FLYERS   3

The Bruins sweep for the day as they defeat the championship game bound Flyers, as they fall one point short of tying both the Flyers and Habs for the top spot in the playoff standings.  Bruins sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the hat trick!  Singles for fellow sub “Scowling” Scott Leslie and Rick Batchelder.  Bobby Rutkoske with another stellar effort in nets for the Bruins.  The league’s leading playoff point man – Mike Ala, Gary Enmark and John Zuccarini tally for the Flyers.

HABS   3    HAWKS   2

Habs go up 3 zip entering the final stanza and hold on for the W.  Finding his offense today – “Bruising” Joe Grusling once again scores for the Habs.  Kenny Wilkins and Jeff “Dick” Tracy also with goals.  James George and Mark Smyth again tally for the Hawks.  Both goalies – Sir Kevin Beebe and “Sugar” John Marchin with excellent games in nets.  No trips to the sin bin for either team.

WINGS   5     SHARKS   2

Deuces wild for Mary Sell and Barry Piornack.  Stevie Lambert with the Wings final marker.  A little miffed last week as being selected in the final round as a forward – Joe Plati with the deuce and all of the Sharks goals today!  You show em Joe!
