WEEK THREE – PLAYOFFS

BRUINS   3    WINGS   2

The battle for the top spot and the Bruins prevail!  Rick Batchelder, Rob “Nifty” Middleton and Providence call up Schurman dent the twine for the Bruins.  Gerry Krause and sub Berry score for the Wings in this penalty free game.

SHARKS   4     HAWKS   2

The sub goalie game, as both teams sport very capable replacements in nets, with “Ricky” Nelson for the Sharks and Rodney Heid for the Hawks!  Rob Lee, Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich and subs Ken Kos and Matt Linnell score for the Fish.  Adam Godard and Rockford call up Scott “Bobby” Mercer tally for the Hawks in this penalty free game.

HABS   6    FLYERS   2

The hard working, tenacious Frenchmen totally dominate this game, as they play with three D!  Young sub Matt Lawson with the tour du chapeau!  Defenseman Brian Belloli with the deuce.  Mike Ala with a single.  Sammy “The Bull” Bonanno with both Flyers goals.  The only Flyer highlight of the game, was the shorthanded breakaway goal by Bonanno, as he goes backhand using only one arm as the defenseman is draped all over him!  Habs sub Matt Lawson(Chop) and Flyers enforcer Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi(Roughing) enter the box together for a two minute duration.

BRUINS   1    HABS   1

Playoff hockey at it’s best!  Bruins sniper Ronnie Meltsner and Habs sub Matt Lawson score final period goals as this defensive battle ends in a stalemate!  The first place Bruins remain undefeated in the playoffs!

HAWKS   4    WINGS   1

1-1 entering the final stanza, then the Hawks clip the Wings for three unanswered goals!  Billy Hagen with a two goal game.  Adam Godard and sub Justin “Mickey” Brantley with singles.  Sub Scott Mercer with the hat trick assist.    Sub goalie Rodney Heid was stellar between the pipes!  Sub for hire Dougie Roehl with the lone Wings goal.

SHARKS   5    FLYERS   2

The Sharks sweep on the day, as Bruce “The Enabler” Gooel finds the back of the net twice.  Singles for Ben Haynes, Rob Lee(Also 3 Helpers) and sub defenseman Ken Kos. “Hello Mary Lou” – Sharks sub goalie “Ricky” Nelson shines in nets!  Returning from a five week stint on the DL with a lower body injury, sub Paul Vioalssi with both Flyers goals.  It’s rapidly looking the President’s Trophy curse, as the Flyers drop both games and descend in the standings.
