The Flyers snap the top spot Wings six game unbeaten streak in fine fashion!  Deuces wild for Ryan O’Rourke and Chuck Mouraine.  Jimmy George and Chris Raber also with goals.  General Robert E. Lee scores twice for the Wings.  Singles for Chris Zanke and sub Dougie Roehl.  No penalties in this contest.

SHARKS   3     BRUINS   0

Five subs today for the sub-upped Sharks.  Sharks defenseman Al Phipps was lamenting pregame about being short a player.  Then he looks at the Bruins bench with just three players on it – “Oh that will work” he says.  Subs Mick McBride, Matt Lawson and Justin “Mickey” Brantley score for the Fish.  Bruins killer – goalie Mike Schlimgen with a well earned shutout!  The only Bruins highlight was the excellent puck stopping of goalie Kenny Lipshutz.

FLYERS   4     BRUINS   1

Jimmy George scores twice for the Flyers as they sweep on the day!  The slimmed down Ryan O’Rourke and scoring on a extremely generous net front Bruins turnover – Keith Foucher.  Steve Lemieux with the only Bruins goal in today’s doubleheader on a nice pass from sub Jeff Funk.  Once again goalie Kenny Lipshutz was simply outstanding in nets!  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

HABS   7     WINGS    5

The Frenchmen break their eleven game winless streak with a robust offensive showing!  Two goals apiece for Curt Bailey, Mike Ala and Jimmy “Boog” Powell.  Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins with their final marker.  Sub Dougie Roehl scores twice for the Wings.  Singles for Tom “Ozzie” Oswald, Barry Piornack and General Lee.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley with a solo roughing minor penalty.  Wings captain Paulie Giles took the floor postgame locker room after losing a DH today and did his best Yogi Berra: “Guys we don’t have anything locked up yet – it’s not over till its over!”  Well said Paul!

SHARKS   2     HAWKS    1

Eddie ‘The Eagle” Higgins snaps a 1-1 tie with just under four minutes remaining in the game, as the Sharks recover from last weeks double dip loss and sweep today!  Super sub Mick McBride with the Sharks initial goal.  “Hurricane” Halbulber with a rumble down the right wing scores for the Hawks.  Winning goalie Mike Schlimgen and Brian Miller of the Hawks both with outstanding games in nets!
