FLYERS   3     HABS   3

Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel scores with just under two minutes left in the game to salvage a tie for the Flyers.  Captain Ryan O’Rourke with the deuce.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley, Cam Lawrence and sub “Mickey” Brantley do the honors for the Frenchmen.

SHARKS   5     WINGS   3

Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins with the trick for the Fish, who score a power play and shorthanded handed goal in this contest!  Ben Haynes and Glenn Pareskevin also with Sharks markers.  Bo Altherr and the Al’s – Pyc and Phipps with the Wings goals.

BRUINS   6    HAWKS   0

Bruins goalie Bobby Rutkoske continually frustrated the Hawks time and time again, as he was flawless between the pipes!  Hats off to Bobby!  “A” league callups Mike Garlick(2&2) and Chris Isola(1&2) wreck havoc on the Hawks.  Their line-mate Jim Chapie with a two goal game.  Sub Lawson also with a goal.  Absolutely no Hawks highlights in this penalty free game.

HABS   4    BRUINS    4

Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence bangs in a bad angle shot off the far goal post with the goalie pulled and just 26 seconds left in the game, to keep the Habs undefeated for the season and a doubleheader tie today.   Captain Kenny Wilkins, Don Courtley and Marty Sell with singles.  Deuces wild for Adam Godard and sub Mike Garlick for the men in yellow.

HAWKS   2     WINGS   1

Wings up 1-0 on an Al Pyc five hole goal entering the final stanza, which means the Hawks have been shutout for three periods today!  Then Bob Halbauer one times a rebound backhand into the netting to tie it up 1-1.  “R” league rookie Curt Lesnau(Never thought I would be called a rookie again) snapped the tie for the Hawks third 2-1 win of this young season!  Goalie Mike Mostyn was simply outstanding in nets!  The Hawks killed off four penalties to the Wings zero and none bigger than an almost full two minute 5 on 3.  An interesting play occurred in this game as Hawks goalie Mike Mostyn see’s the referee’s arm in the air thinking the penalty was against the Wings and comes flying out of his net toward his bench.  Wrong!  The penalty was against his own team, as the Wings Al Phipps eyes get as big as saucers and see’s a wide open net and rifles a slap shot from center ice that nails Mostyn directly in the head just inside his own blue line.  Great save Mike!

SHARKS   4    FLYERS   3

Behind the fine puck stopping of sub goalie Rick ‘Ticker” Chauvin the Sharks sweep for the day!  Eddie Higgins, Steve Dietrich, Ben Haynes and sub Fay tally for the Sharks.  Al Sparks, Ryan O’Rourke and sub Mike Krueger with the Flyers markers.  The Sharks Glenn Pareskevin(Slashing) and the Flyers Pete Gibb(Roughing) trade indignities at each other.
