LET THE GAMES COMMENCE!

HAWKS   5    SHARKS   1

This is a very tough Hawks squad!  They have the fire power and the net-minder to run roughshod over the rest of the league!  Steve Orr, Al Pyc, Pat Collins, Mike Ala and Jim “Jacques” Lemire tally for the Hawks.  Goal-keep Bobby Rutkoske with a very light workload.  Big Ben Haynes with the lone Shark goal.

BRUINS   3    FLYERS   2

Jimmy George scores his second goal of the game and the only goal of the final period, to send the host Bruins to the W.  Chuck Mouraine with the Bruins middle marker.  John Zuccarini and Bob “Busgy” Watson score for the Flyers.  Both goalies – the Bruins Mike Mostyn and the Flyers Brian Miller with solid games in nets.  No trips to the sin bin for either team.

WINGS   2   HABS   0

Wings net-minder Mike Schlimgen spins a whitewash for the victorious Wings.  Peter Gibb and Ronnie Meltsner do the honors for the Wings.  No French highlights in this penalty free game.

HAWKS   2    FLYERS   1

The Hawks sweep for the day and the Flyers lose another one goal heartbreaker.  Behind goaler Brian Miller, the Flyers are up 1-0 with just under three minutes left in the game.  Then Terry Masserant and Mark Smyth score goals just just over a minute apart to steal this one from the Flyers! Bobby Rutkoske with an excellent game in nets for the Hawks.   Sting rookie Robert E. Lee with the Flyers lone goal.

BRUINS   1    WINGS   1

The Mikes – Mostyn and Schlimgen were stellar between the pipes!  Scoring machine Jimmy George tallies for the Bruins.  Still flying high after last week’s Sam Cupp Championship victory – Paulie “Jay” Giles with the Wings marker.  This was a penalty free game.

HABS   5    SHARKS   3

Deuces wild for Donald Courtley and Joe Plati as the Habs find their offense in this game!  Jim Chapie also with a French goal.  The Habs penalty kill worked to perfection, as they killed four penalties in the first period and also score three goals!  Ben Haynes, Chris Zanke and Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins score for the Fish.
