WINGS    4     SHARKS   1

You knew this was going to be a rough game for the Sharks, when Sharks forward Jeff Funk arrives with the zamboni circling the ice and cooler in tow.  Soon as Jeff reaches his locker room door, he trips and sends the cooler contents spewing all over the hallway.  It was classic!  The Sharks were missing the top rated forward(Nate) and goalie (Billy Mac Jr.) in this contest and the Wings took full advantage.  Sub John Cornish and line mates “Downtown” Jimmy Brown,”Angry” Joey Ventimiglia and Curt Lesnau score for the Wings.  Muddy was superb in nets.  Jeff Funk with a beautiful one handed tip short handed goal, was the Sharks only highlight.  Sharks center Donnie Rivera had scored in every game(4) to start the season.  His streak was stopped in this contest.  “Angry” Joe slashed Jeff Ivory(Roughing) and they both hit the box in tandem.

BRUINS   3   HAWKS   2

A very spirited contest as Bakers Bruins upend the Hawks.  Goaler “Smoking” Joe Polizzi was simply outstanding in this game for the Bruins!  John McNeilly factors in all off the Bruins tallies with a 1 & 2 game.  Rex Baker and Mike Miller with singles. The league welcomes back Jimmy “Jets” Galloway, who had a lengthy D.L. stint with a lower body injury.   Timmy “Dutch” Schultz and sub Chas Kipp score for the Hawks.  Following the game, Bruins Captain Baker gives former Bruins goalie Kirk Larson a little sarcastic wink and nod toward the scoreboard.  Hmm!

FLYERS   6    HABS  1

No contest here as the Flyers dominate from start to end.  Billy “The Dark” Knight with a two goal game.  Singles for Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi, Lenny Gerbino, “Party” Pete Kaczmarek and Mike Riddle.  Danny Rea with the hat trick assist.  Mike T. Brown with the Habs lone marker.

HABS    8     BRUINS    8

Whoa!  A funny thing happened following this game, as both goalers were found in aisle K in Walgreens looking for sun block!  On his way driving home and stopped at a red light on East Big Beaver, Dar started hyper ventilating!  It was that kind of game!  No penalties in the game – no surprise there I guess.  Bruins – Mr. John McNeilly with a huge 6 point game – 4 & 2.  Singles for Marty Papesh and Mike Miller who both had 3 helpers.  Eddie Sudzina and Craig Bastuba also with Bruins goals.  Personally, starting a little slow this season, Habs Captain Bryan Prentice said “Enough with this stuff” and proceeds to rack up a 6 point game including 5 – count em – 5 goals!  Nice job Bryan!  Power winger Dougie Roehl with a 4 assist game.  The score keeper was seen shaking her right hand after the game and lamenting about writers cramp!

HAWKS   WINGS

Hawks win.

SHARKS    4    FLYERS   2

After a disappointing game one loss – the Sharks redeem themselves with a nice W against the Flyers.  “Lets start another goal streak” – Donnie Rivera says, as he and sub Scott Davenport dent the twine twice for the Sharks.  Offensive defenseman Kurt “The Baron” Von Mach with both Flyer tallies in this penalty free game.
