SOME MEMBERS OF THE MICHIGAN STING INCLUDING MYSELF

FACED OFF AGAINST THE SPECIAL NEEDS MICHIGAN FLYERS TEAM THIS

PAST SATURDAY IN ST. CLAIR SHORES.

A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!

RIP THE GOLDEN JET!

SHARKS   5     HAWKS   2

Deuces wild for John Cornish and sub Scott Davenport and Greg Stacy with the game winning goal for the Sharks.  Goalie Billy Papciak with a strong game in nets.  Larry “School Boy” Rowe and Dave Rupprecht tally for the Hawks.

FLYERS   5    BRUINS   4

Sporting six subs today and seemingly having a more tranquil and harmonious locker room – sub Chris Ballard leads the Flyers with the trick!  Singles for Pierre Dugas and Rob Hergott.  European sub Micola with four assists!  Steve Wink, Jeff Steiber, Mike Nalepa and Jamie Smith score for the Bruins.  Right winger Rex Baker with the hat trick assist in this penalty free game.

HABS   3    WINGS   2

Reminiscent of former NHL player Ron Dugay(See Picture Below) or just maybe his illegitimate grandson – speedy forward Anthony Amato with shorthanded and power play goals leads the Habs to the hard earned W in this chippy affair.  Returning from his self imposed holdout and allegedly with a fatter contract, Rob Rowling with the Habs middle marker and a great behind the net pass for Amato’s game winning power play goal.  Goalie Billy Schaugg and his quartet of age 60 plus age defenseman shut down the high powered Wings!  Center Zach Wagner with both Wings goals.  The dunce of the day award goes to Wings sub Curt Lesnau, who shows up with one elbow pad today.  So, with skates on, he gets the key to the equipment locker, but their is no padding by the lockers, so he receives assistance from the scorekeeper in arena four, who has no idea what an elbow pad looks like as I’m instructing her to move the equipment around so I can see an elbow pad.  Oh – were not done yet!  I return back to arena three to continue dressing and find the locker room is now locked!  Back to arena four skating onto the ice just as the puck was going to be dropped to get the key!  Back to arena three and finally gets dressed and shows up at arena four after missing a couple of shifts.  Whew!

FLYERS   6    HAWKS   4

The first indicator this was going to be a tough game for the Hawks is when Flyers sub Micola scores shorthanded twice on the same shift in the games first two minutes!  Singles for Billy Reiss, Pierre Dugas and subs Chris Ballach(Also 4 Helpers) and Marcel Dimitri.  Tired of his teams continually losing ways, Hawks forward Paul Elsey Jr. takes matters into his own hands and records the trick!  Sub Kostesich with a goal.  Dave Rupprecht with three assists.  Both teams had sub goalies with the surname of Miller.  Brian for the Flyers and E. for the Hawks.

WINGS   8     BRUINS   2

Mr. Zach Wagner set a personal career record with a SIX goal game!  Line-mate Terry Boyette(Also 3 Assists) and on an absolute blast from the right point – Kurt Salvatore with singles.  Jamie Smith and Mike Nalepa score for the Bruins.  As Paul Harvey would say “Now the rest of the story!”  Why the Bruins continue to play forwards on defense is beyond comprehension!  For example, they had two subs today that are definitely forwards playing defense, as both of them got lit up like a Christmas tree, evidenced by Zach’s six goals, who believe it or not attempted not to score toward games end.  The Bruins have allowed 107 goals this season – 38 more than the next team!  Think about that!  This Bruins team is a hot defensive mess and it NOT all on the goalie!  The poor guy needs some semblance of help!

SHARKS   3    HABS   1

Canadians goalie Bill Schaugg experienced a medical problem at about 6:10 pm during the 2nd period. He was able to walk off the ice helped by other players and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The Canadians team members decided not to continue with the game.  Please keep Billy in your prayers!  Dave West, Dougie Roehl and Nick Piccolo with the Sharks goals.  Paul Violassi scores for the Habs.
