LONGTIME STING MEMBER GOALIE KIRK “CAPTAIN AMERICA” LARSON HAS REGRETTABLY OFFICIALLY HUNG UP HIS PADS DUE TO BALKY KNEE’S.  KIRK SAYS PLAYING WITH THE STING ORGANIZATION AND IT’S TEAM MEMBERS WAS SOME OF THE BEST TIMES OF HIS LIFE!  HE ALSO OFFERS THIS PIECE OF ADVICE: “ALWAYS PLAY EVERY GAME LIKE IT’S YOUR LAST, BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR LAST GAME IS!”  SEE YOU AROUND CAPTAIN AMERICA!

WEEK ONE – PLAYOFFS

Right winger Greg Stacey plays an outstanding game and records the trick!  Singles for Brian Reath(Also 3 Helpers), Mike Garlick and sub Mike Miller, with a top shelf breakaway bullet.  The Habs sport five subs today as Steve “Mario” Lemieux achieves the tour du chapeau.  Sub Fouldbash with the Habs final marker.  Sub Jimmy Brown with the hat trick assist.  Defenseman Steve Wink of the Sharks picks up simultaneous elbowing and roughing minor penalties late in the game with Mark Rogers, who incurs a high sticking minor infraction.

1-1 entering the final stanza, then the Wings score three unanswered goals for the W.  Deuces wild for Rob Rowling and Paul “Stork” Erikson.  Goaler Kris “King” Arthur was solid between the pipes.  Brian Moore with the lone Flyers goal.

HAWKS    5    BRUINS    3

Bruins up 3-1 entering the final period and entertaining upset thoughts.  Then The Hawks score four final period goals for the victory.  Deuces wild for Zach Wagner and John McNeilly.  Sub Mike T. Brown with a single.  Donnie Rivera, John Cornish and Rex Baker tally for the men in yellow.

Prior to game one, Rob Rowling tells his Wings teammates that his son has a playoff game next Thursday and if his team does not sweep today, he will not be there next Thursday.  Guess what?  Rob’s showing up!  The Wings knock off the elite Hawks for a nice doubleheader win!  Scott Chodun leads the way with the deuce.  Singles for Paul Erickson, Terry Boyette, Steve Bittner and Rob Rowling.  Subs Justin “Mickey” Brantley(2), Jimmy Deagan and Mike T. Brown score for the Hawks.  In the first post Sam Cupp trade – Hawks acquisition Jack Prioux with their initial goal.  Rob Rowling and Zach Wagner hit the box in tandem with roughing minor penalties.

FLYERS    5    SHARKS   2

How bout them Flyers!  Goalie Billy Schaugg says: “It’s playoff time!”  Mike Riddle, Brian Moore, Billy Knight, Trevor Wrobel and sub Jeff “Marine” Steiber dent the twine for the Flyers.  Ward Peterson and sub left winger Timmy “Dutch” Schultz with the Sharks markers.

Nobody sees more rubber than Habs goalie Gordy Nadolsky!  Donnie Rivera with the trick for the Bruins.  Jimmy “Jets” Galloway and Mike Nalepa(Also 4 Helpers) with two goal games.  Singles for John Cornish and Craig Bastuba.  Right winger Rex Baker with a three assist game.  Sub Jimmy Brown with the Habs goal.  Bruins enforcer Brendan Brosnan picks up a double minor roughing penalty as he stands up as opposing player.
