HAWKS   2      SHARKS   2

A well played game, as both ageless goalies – Dar and Billy Schaugg put on a show for the two fans in attandance!  Scott Leslie and sub Hirschfield tally for the Fish.  Scoring machine sub “Scott” Lockwood with both Hawks goals.  Line-mates Brian Moore and sub Tringali assisting on both goals.

FLYERS   5     BRUINS   1

1-1 entering the final stanza.  Then the slippery John Cornish scores the first of his two goals 23 ticks into the final period, as the Flyers defeat the Bruins.  Mark Rogers also with a two goal game.  Sub “Old Man” Jack Priaux with the Flyers initial tally.  Flyers sub Goaler “Ricky” Nelson makes like a “Garden Party” and does not invite the Bruins!  Bruins winger Mike Garlick was the only uninvited guest at the party, as he goes five hole.

HABS   3     WINGS   2

The Habs and goalie Gordy Nadolsky play a strong game and end up on the winning side.  Craig Bastuba, Tim Craddock and Joey Reiss score for the Frenchmen.  John McNeilly and Paul “Stork” Erikson do the honors for the Wings in this penalty free game.

HAWKS    2     FLYERS   2

Two teams playing at their best right now, as the top spot Hawks are undefeated in their past seven games and the Flyers likewise in their past five!  Fittingly, we have a tie.  Mike Nalepa with an even strength and shorthanded goals for the Flyers.  Brian Moore and sub Tringali tally for the Hawks.  Goalie’s Dar and sub “Ricky” Nelson were excellent between the pipes!

WINGS    3     BRUINS   3

The third tie of the day as both teams salvage a point today!  Wings sub Barker with the deuce.  Mike Riddle with their middle goal.  Mike Garlick scores twice for the Bruins.  Donnie Rivera scores a Peter Forsberg one-handed goal.  “Smoking” Joe Polizzi and Kris “King” Arthur with both strong games in nets.  John McNeilly of the Wings ends up with an unsportsmanlike minor penalty as he chirps at the refs.

HABS    6     SHARKS   3

The Habs run roughshod over the under achieving Sharks.  A ton of talent on this last place Sharks team, as they are now winless in their past eight games!  Sub “Smiling” Scott Davenport with the tour du chapeau!  Singles for Steve “Mario” Lemieux, Craig Bastuba and sub Celian.  Pierre Dugas with the tour du chapeau assist.  Sharks – Richey Artymovich(2) and Nate McNaughtry.

Name me the players who wore #9 for their respective teams in the 1950’s?
The Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadians and Chicago Black Hawks should be a slam dunk.
The Boston Bruins and New York Rangers are a little tougher.
You will NOT get the Toronto Maple Leafs!
Scroll down for the answer.
Wings – Gordie
Montreal – The Rocket
Chicago – Bobby Hull
Boston – Johnny Bucyk
Rangers – Andy Bathgate
Now the toughie:
Toronto – Tod Sloan
