Why I Mow My Own Yard Lee Trevino: A True Story

One day, shortly after joining the PGA tour in 1965, Lee Trevino, a professional golfer and married man, was at his home in Dallas,Texas mowing his front lawn, as he always did.

A lady driving by in a big, shiny Cadillac stopped in front of his house, lowered the window and asked, “Excuse me, do you speak English?”

Lee responded, “Yes Ma’am, I do.”

The lady then asked, “What do you charge to do yard work?”

Lee said, “Well, the lady in this house lets me sleep with her.”

The lady hurriedly put the car into gear and sped off.

WINGS   8     HAWKS   3
Whoa!  Who saw this coming?  After being winless in their past nine games, the Wings take out their pent up frustration on the Hawks!  Wings mild mannered goalie Brian Miller proclaimed pre-game locker room” Enough is Enough!”  Greg Stacy with the hat trick!  Deuces wild for John Crisi and Mike Nalepa.  “Black” Jack Priaux with a single.  Waz Sarweh with the hat trick assist.  Hawks – Paul Vioalssi and the Olmstead’s – Rob and Jo.
BRUINS   5    HABS   2
The Bruins spread out the scoring.  Chris Robillard, Jordan Roberts, Pat Wosek, Rex Baker and sub Jimmy Degan all dent the twine.  Moncton call up Lance Kos with both Habs markers.
 SHARKS   4    FLYERS   2
Scoreless entering the final stanza.  Then scoring machine Zach Wagner records the natural hat trick for the Fish!  Sub Anthony Amato with a buzzer beating goal.  Veteran goalie Billy Schaugg was outstanding in nets!  Danny Rea and sub Williams score for the Flyers in this penalty free game.
SHARKS   5     BRUINS   3
The Sharks win their fourth straight game and are now just a point behind the first place Flyers!  Subs Paul Elsey Jr. and Anthony Amato both with two goal games!  Zach Wagner with the game winning goal.  Billy Shaugg with another strong game in nets.  Jordan Roberts, Steve Lemieux and sub Ballach tally for the men in yellow in this penalty free game.  Jeff Funk with three helpers.  Now a little true story.  Back in the early days of Mt. Clemens Arena, Jeff and I were teammates on Monday nights along with Terry Boyette and Mark Rogers.  Because of Jeff’s affinity of NOT passing the puck, he was kicked off the team.  So, here he is decades later with a three assist game!  Times have changed!
HAWKS   6    HABS   3
I guess these Olmstead kids are pretty good!  Jo Olmstead with a huge five goal game subbing for Brian Moore!  Mike Riddle also with a goal.  The reeling Habs who are now winless in their past five contests, receive goals from Paul Erickson, Charlie Eslinger and sub Lance Kos.
 WINGS   5    FLYERS   3
A couple of firsts here!  The Wings win their first doubleheader of the year!  The Flyers lose their first doubleheader of the year!  The Wings play two great games today with the sweep!  Celebrating the end of the school year – Mike “Padre” Nalepa with the trick for the Wings!  Singles for the Wagner’s not named Zach.  Nate and E.  This was another penalty free game.
1974 was the first year an original six team was not in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Name the winning and losing team.
The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Buffalo Sabres.
