THE MICHIGAN STING FAMILY EXTENDS IT’S DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF MIKE HUNGO!

MIKE WAS THE ELDER STATESMAN OF THE STING GOALIE CONTINGENT.

ALWAYS WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND A KIND WORD TO SAY, MIKE WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED!

SAY HI TO SAM FOR US MIKE!

WEEK ONE – SECOND HALF

HAWKS   5      BRUINS   2

Scoring machine Zach Wagner with the hat trick!  John McNeilly and sub Jimmy Deagan also score for the Hawks.  John Cornish and sub Scott Bozyk were the Bruins marksman.

HABS   9     FLYERS   3

Whoa!  After only two victories in 22 games last season, the Frenchmen totally take out their frustration on the Flyers!  The Habs were lead by Lloyd Rogers out of their pregame locker room chanting: “New Season, New Season, New Season!”  Deuces wild for subs Gregg Calvin and “Downtown” Jimmy Brown.  Singles for Pierre Dugas, Mark Rogers, Jeff Curran and Steve Lemieux.  Mike Riddle, Marty Papesh and Brian Moore tally for the Flyers.  Flyers goalie Billy Schaugg felt like the Maytag repairman – the loneliest guy on the ice!  Where was everybody, as the Habs swooped in time after time?

WINGS   5    SHARKS    2

Line-mates Rob Rowling and Terry Boyette each with two goal games.  Jeff Funk with the game winning goal.  Goaler Kris “King” Arthur with a strong effort in nets.  Mike Garlick with both Sharks markers.

HAWKS   4     WINGS   4

Hawks sub Jimmy Degan scores the game tying power play goal with just over two minutes left in the contest.  Robbie Olmstead with the deuce.  Zach Wagner with a 1 & 3 game.  As in game one – Rob Rowling with a two goal game.  Singles for Ryan Boyette and Paul “Stork” Erikson.

HABS    5     BRUINS   3

The first place Habs!  Let’s digest that statement for a little while and say it again!  The first place Habs – equal their first half season victory total in one day!  Winger Steve Bayagich with the tour du chapeau.  Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the deuce.  Affable Habs goalie Gordie Nadolsky, who has saw more red this year than downtown Amsterdam, just sat postgame with a satisfying smile on his face!  Allen Park native Donnie Rivera with a two goal game for the Bruins.  Mike Nalepa with the Bruins initial marker.

SHARKS   5     FLYERS   4

Another two goal game for the Sharks Mike Garlick.  Singles for Mike Miller, James Puffer and sub Timmy Vaneckoute.  Deuces wild for Flyers scoring machines – Trevor Worbel and Brian Moore, as the Flyers drop a deuce today.

What two things do current Red Wings Dylan Larkin, Justin Abdelkader and Luke Glendening have in common?

Scroll down for the answer.

All three are Michigan natives and assistant captains.
