FLYERS   5     HAWKS   4

The Hawks tie the game up 4-4 late in the final stanza.  11 seconds later, long time sniper Mark Rogers goes top shelf for the Flyers game winner!  Line-mate Trevor Wrobel with the deuce.  Billy Reiss and Waz Sarweh also with goals.  Brian Moore scores twice for the Hawks.  Singles for Paul Elsey Jr. and sub Jimmy Degen.  This was a penalty free game.

WINGS    5    BRUINS   4

Same score and almost same scenario.  Bruins go up 4-3 on James Robie’s second goal of the game of the shorthanded variety, with seven minutes remaining in the contest.  Then Nate Wagner of the Wings ties it up a minute later, only to see brother Zach complete his hat trick 40 seconds later for a stirring Wings victory!  Warren native Steve Bayagich also scored for the Wings.  Jamie Smith with the first two Bruins markers.  Captain Rex Baker with the hat trick assist.

SHARKS   9     HABS   5

This was a feeding frenzy as the Sharks finally win their first game of the season!  Subs Kostisch and Chris Ballard with hat tricks!  Ballard with a natural hat trick in the first period!  John Cornish finds the back of the net twice and Nick Piccolo once.  Big Rob Rowling with a two goal game for the Habs.  Singles for Eddie Sudzina and Anthony Amato.  The Frenchmen play with no subs today.

HABS   5    FLYERS   4

The Flyers score a power play goal with a minute and a half left in the game to tie it up 4-4.  Then immediately go on the power play once again looking for the W!  Oh no!  Ain’t going to happen!  Rob Rowling scores his second goal of the game as the Habs are shorthanded, for a thrilling Habs win!  Flyers sub goalie Rodney Heid was seen screaming something or another in the corner, as the ref fishes the puck out of the net.  Dangerous defenseman Kenny Kluz also with a two goal game for the Habs.  Singles for Eddie Sudzina and Rob “Archie” Montgomery.  Mark Rogers scores twice for the Flyers.  Ward Peterson and Trevor Wrobel also with Flyers goals in this very entertaining game.

WINGS   6     SHARKS   2

The still undefeated top spot Wings roll over the Sharks.  As in game one – Zach Wagner with the hat trick!  Brother Nate with the deuce.  Defenseman Craig Bastuba with their final goal.  Sharks subs Kosisch and Chris Ballard with their goals.

BRUINS  1     HAWKS   1

Finally a game where the solarcaine aisle at Walgreens did not have to be utilized.  Both goalies – Kris “King” Arthur of the Hawks and Bruins sub Joe “Rickey – Hello Mary Lou” Nelson put on a goaltending clinic for the very late arriving crowd!  Jamie Smith ties the game up for the Bruins with under two minutes left in the game!  Sting rookie John Poolton scores in the first period for the Hawks.
