FINAL WEEK OF THE PLAYOFFS

CONGRATS TO THE HAWKS AND HABS, WHO WILL FACE OFF NEXT WEEK IN THE SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

DISCOUNTED TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE OPC IN ROCHESTER.

HABS    6    FLYERS   2

The Robs – Rowling and Olmstead both with the tour du chapeau as they put a serious dent in the Flyers Championship game aspirations!  Joey Reiss and “Smiling” Kyle Lybecker score for the Flyers.

WINGS   4    BRUINS   2

The Wings eliminate the Bruins from Championship game contention!  Knocking in a juicy rebound – “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio, Chad Wooten(Backhand), Mike Napepa(Top Shelf) and sub Berguson score for the Wings.  Curt Lesnau and Nate McNaughtry tally for the men in yellow.  Bruins sub goalie Joel Clark stones Steve Bayagich on a penalty shot.  Wings sub Dave “Beach Boy” Wilson and Bruins forward Chris Isola both hit the box in tandem with roughing minor penalties.

HAWKS   6     SHARKS   5

The Hawks jump out to a 5-1 first period lead and hang on for the W!  Center Brian Moore with the trick!  Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the deuce.  Returning from his broken foot – Billy Mac Jr. with the hat trick for the Sharks.  Brothers Brown each with a goal.

WINGS   8    SHARKS   3

Despite taking a doubleheader today – the Wings will not play in next weeks Championship game.  Bearded center Mr. Mike “Padre” Nalepa with a huge four goal game!  His right winger “Angry” Joe assisted on all four goals.  Sub Berguson with a two goal game.  Singles for Chad Wooten and Steve Bayagich.  Mike Riddle, Billy Mac Jr. and Jimmy Brown score for the Fish.  This season mercifully comes to an end for this once proud Leaf/Shark franchise.  Ending up in fifth place in the regular season and dead last in the playoffs has made it a long season!  The Brothers Brown reunion was a failure and also the exodus of their goalie during the playoffs, were just a couple of examples that added to this teams futility.

BRUINS   5    FLYERS   4

Finally!  The Bruins upend the Flyers for the first time in five games!  Nate McNaughtry with the deuce.  Singles for Mike Ala, John McNeilly and sub Paul “Stork” Erikson.  Rex Baker with three helpers.  Flyers sub Rob Duff was all over the ice with a 2 & 1 game!  Defenseman Danny Rea and on an absolute blast – Pat “The Beast” Wosek with singles.  No penalties in the game.  A very special shout out goes to one of the absolute nice guys in hockey – Flyers goalie Kirk “Captain America” Larson, who has played his final hockey game due to balky knees!  Don’t be a stranger Kirk – come around!

HABS    5    HAWKS   1

Hmm!   A preview of next weeks Sam Cupp Championship game!  Congratulations to the Habs who end up in the top spot in the playoffs!  Big Rob Rowling scores his first of two goals 30 ticks into the game, as the Habs jump out to an insurmountable 5-0 first period lead.  Scott Chodun, Mike Wilson and Lloyd Rogers also score for the Frenchmen.  Defenseman Mike Krueger with the Hawks final period marker.  We will see who prevails next week!
